Tailynn Marshalls was rushing home as fast as she could, trying not to drop numerous groceries. The cell phone Grandmother had bought her started to vibrate in Tailynn's pants pocket. Carefully but annoyed nevertheless, Tailynn dug it out and answered the incoming call.
"Yes, Grandmother. I'm on my way home. The lines were exceptionally long today. Uh-huh." She spoke into the receiver, looking to cross the street.
Navigating a little too fast, she tripped and scraped her knees. "Aw, crap." She muttered to herself, picking up spilled items.
Grandmother's voice radiated from the phone, "Tailynn?! Are you alright?" Noticing it, Tailynn picked it up and responded that she was a little scraped but mostly embarrassed. She hung up with her relative and started getting up when suddenly, she was reminded she was in the middle of the street.
Turquoise eyes closed as the impact of a rushing car collided into her.

Beast Boy sighed, flipping channels. Cyborg was working on his car this afternoon; he claimed: she didn't sound too good the last time they went for a spin. He needed his baby to be tip-top shape. Suddenly, when switching on Jump City's News at 5, Beast Boy heard a report that made his body numb.
"Yes, it appears local highschooler, Tailynn Marshalls 15, was reported to have been hit by a Toyata Yaris on Salmon Street. The young girl is in critical condition, but it has been said that the likelihood of her recovering is slim. In other news—"
Beast Boy did not hear the rest. The changeling stared off in shock.
"-Terra."
--------------------------
He sat at her bedside from the moment he arrived at the hospital. Terra's adoptive grandmother knew of their past and smiled fondly at Beast Boy. They waited and shared comfortable silence between them. They only wished for Terra's survival.
After three days of slumber, Terra awoke to find her grandmother on her one side; Beast Boy on the other. She spoke softly to her grandmother who eventually told her to talk to the boy. Grandmother firmly stated, "He's been here since the accident. I would think to, at least, give him a chance. Go on now. I'll be right outside."
Tailynn turned to Beast Boy, who simply smiled in response. "How're you?"
"I feel like I've been hit by a truck," responded Tailynn, curtly.
Beast Boy winced at his stupidity. "Er, forget what I said. I'm just glad you're okay, Terra."
She started to laugh but soon realized it hurt. Tailynn, then, put a hand above her mouth as to stifle her approaching giggles.
Beast Boy was genuinely confused. "Uh, um…" He responded, uncomfortably.
Tailynn took notice to his sudden awkwardness and shook her head. "After all I say to you, you still don't get it. My name is Tailynn."
Beast Boy put on a sad smile and looked her in the eyes, "I'm glad you're doing better, Tailynn." He held her soft hand and shook it as if they had made a promise.
"…" Tailynn looked at him, concerned. "So, you really liked Terra, did you not?" She spoke in a whisper.
Beast Boy's eyes widened, surprised she brought back up the topic she had so long avoided. "Yes," he began, "I… love her." The superhero looked down at his feet, embarrassed at confessing his true feeling and upset for never being able to act upon them.
Tailynn was quiet for a second, "I'm pretty sure she loves you, too." She responded, pulling his chin up to make him face her.
He smiled a sincere smile to this girl, this 'Tailynn'. Without a doubt, he was still convinced Terra was behind this other person, but now knew Tailynn was a generally kind-hearted person. Now, they saw eye-to-eye. Jade on turquoise.
