Hellooooooo! Icee here, and if you read this, I suggest you go read Children of Disney either before or after this, because otherwise you'll have no clue what's going on. Anyways, future chapters won't be directly related to CoD, and to be honest, I'm looking forward to writing these one-shots. So if anyone has a prompt for me, I'd love to see it! Okay, let's get on with it. So, without further ado, here's chapter one!

The river was shining, glistening in the moonlight. As Rosette sat on its sandy banks, she dreamed lazily, slightly dozing while she waited for her host to return. It was a miraculous feeling to be there in the noisy quiet, so different from her French home. So many sounds: crickets chirping, the slow and steady croak of a frog, the river sloshing upon the shore. The warm atmosphere engulfed her, surrounding her like a warm blanket. Rosette didn't mind the mosquito bites she acquired during her rest, though she knew they would bother her later. Soft footsteps grew steadily louder as she slowly opened her eyes. Glancing up, she saw the soft features of a young boy, his face shining like a angle in the numerous fireflies. Evan stared at her for a moment before sitting next to her.

"Back already?" Rosette said in a whisper, as though a loud noise would send all of the beauty flying.

"You sound disappointed. Should I come back later?" he replied. She laughed softly, and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"You know that's not what I meant." She moved a little closer to Evan, so that he was a pillow to her.

"I know." Silently, he put his arm around Rosette, and kissed the top of her head. It was like a painting, the two of them sitting there under a starry night sky, all the life around them highlighting the bright magnolia trees. The sounds were like a lullaby, and soon Rosette was asleep. Evan smiled at her, thinking of the future they could have. Marriage, children, grandparents… He, too, was soon fast asleep, and the two of them lied there on their backs, all the way through morning. Rosette woke up first, and stood up on the day lit riverbank. She shook Evan slightly, waking him up.

"Rise and shine, Sleepy. Your parents are probably worried sick." He groaned, and Rosette helped him up. They walked down the rugged dirt pathway, found their way to the street and made it to Tiana's Palace- Evan's mom's restaurant. When they walked in, the place was crowded.

"What are all of these people doin' here? It's Sunday mornin'!" Evan questioned. They pushed through the crowd, and saw many of the tables tipped over, and most of the glass plates and cups smashed. The small police force was blocking the scene, but when they saw Evan, they let him through.

"We received a call from your parents, saying that there was a break-in. But they weren't here when we got here. Now everyone's saying it's a missing persons case." Evan grabbed Rosette's hand and pulled her into the kitchen. It looked just like normal. It hadn't been touched. He looked around and spotted a plate of fried shrimp on the counter.

"Aha! Why would my parents leave a plate of shrimp here over night? This must be something the perpetrator left!" he exclaimed hysterically. Rosette walked over to the plate of shrimp.

"I don't know, Evan. This just looks like ordinary shrimp." She picked one up, examined it, and ate it. "Tastes like it, too." Evan scoffed.

"I'll be the judge of that." He took a shrimp and ate it, then looked at Rosette, who was leaning against the counter, holding her head. "Rose? You oka-" A wave of nausea washed over him, and he fell down, grasping his stomach. Then they both blacked out, and awoke in a strange forest that neither of them knew.
