Happened about a year after the Fourth Shinobi World War. AU-ish. The future marriages will not be mentioned in the story (maybe just little hints) and NEJI is not dead here. So it's almost an AU.
Don't own Naruto, if I did then Neji will not be dead hahaha. I only own the OCs.
On to the story.
" Thank you for coming here on short notice guys."
"Well anything for the Hokage, Kakashi-sensei. What is this mission by the way?"
"Yes, thank you for asking Sasuke. I'm glad you're back from your trip by the way. Did you see the bright red beam of light the other night?"
"It caused quite a stir among the civilians. We ANBU guards had a hard time coaxing the people." Neji said. At 19, he's one of the youngest members of ANBU, a captain nonetheless.
"The source of the light was found near the boarders of the fire and win country. The Kazekage was quick to act and already located the source. It's from an underground cave, the existence of the cave itself was unknown until quite recently."
"You mean Gaara's there?"
"Yes Kiba,he personally led the mission since the power was from an unknown source. You five are going there in behalf of Konoha. You may leave as early as you can, once Naruto comes back from his mission, I'll send him and a few others as reinforcements if needed. Shikamaru, act as the leader."
"Yes Hokage, we'll be on our way." Shikamaru said as they piled out of the office.
"You know, I'm still not used to seeing Kakashi-sensei as the Hokage. I mean, he's still reading Icha Icha Paradise publicly."
"But we can't deny that he's a good leader Kiba-san."
"I know Sai. Now let's pack our things, don't forget to bring enough food and water."
"Let's meet by the gates in 30 minutes. We can't leave the Kazekage waiting."
"Lord Kazekage, the Leaf ninjas are in sight."
"Thank you, bring them to me the moment they reach us."
The cave is still emitting a little bit of the chakra we felt the other night, It's strong, stronger than a tailed beast maybe. The walls of the cave are tinted red because of the chakra, I refuse to let anyone come inside the cave , it's dangerous plus I can still see a faint glowing light inside it.
"Hey Gaara, what's going on here?"
"Kiba, glad you all arrived safely. I rushed here as soon as I saw the light. I saw it fade through that cave. I forbid anyone to enter it but I'm planning on entering it later. What do you think Shikamaru?"
"This is the borders right? We've passed here countless times but I think this is the first time I've seen this cave. From its location, it is too visible for ninjas to miss it. Is it possible for the cave ti appear out of thin air?"
"That defies any law of nature that we have, but that's the most possible explanation." Neji added.
"Kazekage-san, is it okay if I call you that? I don't think you'll like the nickname I'm thinking. Are you really planning on entering that cave?"
"Yes, you're Sai if I'm not mistaken. That's why I need you. Temari and Kankuro are away on a mission, they won't be due until after 2 days. After I enter if you don't hear from me after about 10-15 minutes, can you come in after me. I trust your skills, Shikamaru, you can give orders to the Sand ninjas while I'm gone. To be frank, I don't know what 's inside that cave."
"Of course Gaara, I'll send in Sasuke and Neji after you."
"Thanks I'll enter the cave before the sun sets, I just need to finalize a couple of things."
"Of course, Lord Kazekage."
"Hey, don't call me that. Gaara is fine. Its kind of weird hearing it from friends."
"Oh so you do consider us friends, we'll keep that in mind."
"Kiba don't push it, remember I'm still ranked higher than you in terms of position. Oh Sai, what was the nickname you gave me?"
"Trust me, you wouldn't want to know." Sasuke warned me.
I can't believe this, after I entered the cave the strangest thing happened to me. I was a bit disoriented for a while and before I knew it I was talking with a girl and may I say, the clothes that she's wearing can definitely be considered scandalous. I don't really know what happened but, well-
"Look, are you really not gonna obey me?" the girl said, what she's asking me is very unreasonable.
"Don't you know who I am? I am Gaara of the Desert, I am the Fifth Kazekage and the youngest Kazekage in the history, I deserve some respect."
"Yeah yeah and I'm Aria of apartment 204. I don't care if you're the president of this country but you're going to clean the floor whether you like it or not. That sand came from you, I guess."
"This is unreal, who are you to order a kazekage to do house chores."
"Didn't I just tell you that I'm Aria. And dude you're in my apartment if you didn't notice. I should be the one doing the questioning. This is not the scene I want to come home to after a long day."
"Where exactly am I?"
"Just call me Aria, you're in my apartment right across the university. Look out the window and see for yourself. Real talk, who are you? I doubt that you're the new cleaning lady, or man. Why are you wearing a dress?"
"This is a robe not a dress and I should also question you're clothing. You are a lady without a companion; I don't think it's proper for you to walk around like that."
"Like what?"
"Like, um…" I can't stare at her for so long. She's wearing the shortest short I've ever seen and a sleeveless shirt that clings to her body like a second skin. That shouldn't be enough to bother me but I am still considered a teen, and she's got the curve at all the right places. She's pretty short in stature, easily shorter than Temari.
"Hey, I'm waiting."
"Well don't you think your outfit is a bit revealing?"
"Don't you think you're too covered up? The university doesn't have strict dress codes. You're not from around here are you?"
"No, I'm from the village to the Hidden Sand. Do you know the way back there?"
"Hidden Sand? What are you talking about? I can point you to the nearest McDonalds if you're hungry 'cause I think you're speaking gibberish."
"What makes you think I don't know what I'm talking about?"
"Well, at first I thought that you're cosplaying a Naruto character since its familiar but you're pretty weird."
"You know Naruto? Good, can you lead me to him? I need his assistance."
"Dude I don't know if we're talking about the same Naruto but the one I know is fictional. Perhaps I should bring you to a hospital, you're lucky since I just got my car I could give you a ride."
"What do you mean fictional. Haven't you heard of the 4th Shinobi World War?"
"Are you on crack? The sem started like 2 weeks ago and you're already wasting yourself. Let me borrow your cellphone, maybe I know someone in your contacts."
"What's a cellphone?"
"Are you shitting me? Wait, maybe I'm the one who's on crack. I must be hallucinating. This is all Kou's fault, he made me read that manga. I better sleep it off, and you there, you better clean the living room, wait if you're not real then the sand isn't real either. I'm confusing myself, I really need to sleep."

"That is the strangest lady I've ever met. I don't even know where she keeps the broom."
"Yes dad, I'm all settled in. No dad, I didn't throw a party. It's kinda hard when you're living in an apartment."
"I know Aria, the house will not be furnished until about a month. For now, just make the best of that apartment."
"Yes dad, by the way thank you for the car."
"You needed it, I still don't know why you can't go to a closer university. I'm not exactly satisfied that you're living alone."
"That's the whole point of coming here, to try and live independently. But hey, don't stop sending me money, I'm not that good at budgeting." I opened my door and git cautious when I heard some shuffling. There's nothing to rob inside the apartment since I don't plan on getting used to the place.
"You have your credit cards Aria, all of your bills get sent to me."
"Yeah dad thanks, I think I hear your secretary calling you for a meeting, bye."
I entered the room and went straight to the source of the noise. The living room, if it was a burglar I can definitely put up a fight, I started going to the gym a few months ago so I think I can get a hit or two. Wait, what if he has a weapon, I'm not really great at planning things, that's why I perfected the art of procrastinating.
Well, it's a boy, and a hot one at that. I tried pairing up the face with a name but I got nothing.
"Hello?" Good doing Aria, you find an unknown man in your place and the best you can come up with is hello.
"Are you a ninja that specializes in seducing others? I'm warning you, I will not fall for such tactics."
"Ah okay, you're weird. I don't really dig one night stands so if my friends set you up, I'm sorry but you're pretty cute despite that costume you're wearing. Nice hair by the way, is that natural?"
Wait why is there sand in the middle of the living room?
"Who ordered you to come here?"
"Order? I haven't ordered any pizza yet. Hey you're responsible for the sand right?"
"Of course, that's my weap-"
"Clean that up before you go, okay. I'm ordering pizza, is pepperoni alright?"
"Did you just ask me to clean?"
"That's what I said, genius."
"You can't order me. Nobody has the right to order the kazekage."
Woah there, he's hot but maybe has a few loose screws. Looks pretty rich, but weird.
