A/N - This is something I wrote after seeing the latest Sanctuary episode (Kush). And yes, I do know that we've only had 5 episodes, and that she's 157 and he can't be more than mid 30s. This was just something that was begging to be written.
This is an episode tag for Kush and picks up just as the episode ended, with Helen and Will sitting side by side and the helicopter coming.

They both knew why it happened – they're cold, lonely and shocked at actually being alive.
The shock makes them glance at each other more than is usual and so it seems natural for her to reach for him.
Though, as their lips touch, they both know it's wrong.
Knowing that it's wrong doesn't stop her from burying her fingers in his hair, nor him from cupping her face gently.
It's a reassurance, just proof that they are alive, and something that will not be mentioned again.
The sound of the rescue helicopter jolts them apart, and they sit back, breathing heavily, gazes turned away from each other.
Though their hands stay linked as a continued assurance that they are, indeed, alive.
