"You can hug me," Donna said loudly to the man named Jack. When he didn't response, she added a bit more forcefully, "No, really, you can hug me."
A grin spread across his handsome face, and her heart fluttered as he answered, "Oh, I can do better than that." He let out a husky laugh before pulling her into his arms and pressing their lips together.
Donna didn't even have time to gasp. She certain hadn't expected that, but she didn't pull away either. It felt nice. She hadn't been touched this way since Lance- But she cut that thought off immediately. Even after all this time, it was still painful to think about him. She turned her attention back to Jack, began to respond to him.
"Ahem."
The two heard the sound of a throat clearing and turned to see the Doctor and Rose watching them with raised eyebrows. Donna blushed a deep crimson, but Jack only grinned and threw an arm around her.
The Doctor rolled his eyes heavenward. "There's a time and a place, Jack," he said goodnaturedly.
"Sorry, Doctor," the other man replied, laughter in his voice. "I thought Donna here and I deserved a hug as much as you and Rose. Now, where were we?"
