If you're okay with reading this (it's not bad) then enjoy! This is just another typical "my version of 'Say No to This'"
I had a blast writing this (I laughed way too hard) and it was so much fun!
Maria Reynolds sat on the bed, not wanting to move for fear of her husband, James. After an agonizing moment of indecision, she went downstairs to make their breakfast. When he finally decided to wake up an hour later, Maria had everything ready and set up for her husband, in an attempt to put him in a good mood for the day.
With one glance at the food, James' eyes hardened, and swiped all the food off of the table with one hand; it all hit the ground with a heart shattering crash.
"Woman! How many times have I told you to wait for me to get up to make me breakfast!" He shouted.
"I'm so sorry James…it won't happen again."
"You're right it won't." He muttered, slapping her across the face. Maybe luck was in her favor today, he had only slapped her; he'd don't MUCH worse in the past.
After a couple minutes of eating once James had left the house for work, she went to her closet and covered up her bruises, welts, and scars with makeup. James had always required her to be strong, and she had to be, because the less of a fight she put up, the less he hurt her.
After a few hours of trying to relax futilely, she realized she had to leave the house and try to fend for herself. She couldn't live like this anymore. Alexander Hamilton lived across the street, he had money and surely could afford a small amount of money to give her,
She stepped into his apartment and got his attention by asking his name.
"Mr. Hamilton?"
"Yes….."
"I know you're a man of honor, so you'll understand me. My husband has been doing me wrong, beating me and cheating me. I don't know what to do. I have to leave him, but I don't have the means to go on and live by myself.
"I'm so sorry for what that man has done to you. What can I do to help?"
"Could you loan me some money?" Maria asked.
"Of course!" Alex asked, as he ran upstairs to grab his money that was stashed away. When he got downstairs, he handed her $30. "Could I walk you home to be sure you get there safely?"
"Sure." Maria blushed. "You're much too kind sir."
"Absolutely not! I am obliged to help a lady in distress."
When they got to her house, he said, "Well, it was lovely meeting you Mrs. Reynolds, I'll be heading home now."
"Wait…" She said, "One minute."
