Riku enters.
They way he runs to Sora makes me wonder how much he and the Replica were alike.
"What have you done to Sora?" He looks at her accusingly.
"Nothing!" She's quick to defend herself.
"Riku, please choose."
"He doesn't even look worried. Will I sleep like that too?"
Long pause.
"Yes."Like him, not WITH him. Irritation flashes across her face but the silveret is too enraptured in Sora's sleeping form to notice.
Riku babbles about Sora. Like I need to hear this…
Riku realizes why Namine came to his rescue. "When did you know?"
"I knew when I met you." He's pinching his nose. Why is He. Pinching. His. Nose? "You and Kairi smell the same." Are you saying we stink?
Namine says nothing in case it's laced with aggravation and watches Riku making his exit.
Half way to the door, he calls back to her. "Look after Sora."
She smiles sweetly.
But it quickly converts to a sneer.
Namine turned back to Sora's pod and speaks breathily. "We were foolish, Sora."
She narrowed her eyes. "Of all the people we could have plotted against you… Was it just a coincidence?" She crossed her pale arms. "Oh I'll restore your memories alright. Starting with the real memories of me. Me. As Kairi."
Namine softened her face to what people normally associated with her. "You realized so much in this castle."
The sneer dripped with disdain. "So Sorry, Sora. You'll just have to figure out your feelings for Riku all over again." She turned away. "Unless Kairi can get there first. Hmph. We'll just have to see how things play out, won't we?" She started for the exit.
"But for now, I have business with your Nobody. That way, when you and Roxas become one again, you whole being can fall in love with me. Fragments of heart alike." Her hand paused on the handle of the door as she pulled it open.
"Don't worry. You'll thank me."
My second 'behind the scenes' kind of piece.
