I ship this pairing so hard- it's unhealthy. This will be a drabble series, spanning from canon to slightly AU for events years after canon. Rating you will notice is T, because well they aren't going to be teenagers throughout the series. Ranging from Angst, to humour, to drama- it's all here. Titled inspired by Bon Iver's Holocene, it felt fitting in a way.
Thank you to everyone who reviewed or faved my other one-shot!
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Attack on Titan or its characters...much.
Scars
Tiny invincible silver lines that crisscross and mar her porcelain skin. She is not one for vanity and honestly they've never bothered her before. She was in a war, she fought, she survived- scars are to be expected.
Only when she traces the contours of Eren's skin, she can't help marvel at the flawless and unblemished skin.
He catches her look and holds her wrist, halting her slow exploration of his chest.
A look passes between them, he frowns. He wasn't always good at reading her, but he has always been compassionate to a fault.
"You don't have an scars," she remarks, her voice is flat neither angry or upset. But he sees through her facade, her attempt at being emotionally detached.
His thumb strokes her hand, absently. More as a reflex than a source of comfort.
"Don't be ridiculous, Mikasa we all got scars during that war."
She shrugs, jabs a finger with her free hand at his side, "but you don't...you don't have any scars." She points out.
He gives her that look he's been want to give her, when he thinks she's making an unnecessary point and is exasperated by it. He pulls her, she doesn't resist.
As she rests her head on his chest, she thinks the conversation to be over. They don't talk much, they don't need to. They knew each other too well, yet every now and again he surprises her.
Like now when he speaks, voice soft in the darkness, "That's because you healed all my scars, Mikasa."
