Chapter 1 'meeting one another'
The Cullen's were standing outside their house, Jacob alongside them, their bags packed up and arranged in a corner. They were all moving from Forks to Scotland, an equally rainy place.
Alice sighed. "Well, I guess this is it," she murmured softly, lost in her thoughts. A curve of melancholia was spread across her sorrowful expression. Her eyes were staring at a blank space, the blank space that was going to remain here when they were going to leave.
"Yeah," Nessie mumbled, biting her lip, the way she always did when she was remembering.
"A lot has happened here," Esme completed, in a voice that didn't belong to her, it belonged to the sadness, the pain that had formed inside her. She felt awful for leaving, yet she knew that they had to.
They all took a moment to look back on everything that had happened 10-11 years ago. Tears that would never fall began to fill their eyes. They remembered all the times when they had gathered in the living, and laughed together. They remembered moments of pain, loss, and the miracles that this place had witnessed. These walls were padded with memories, all happy, of a united family. How could they leave, when they felt so attached to this place, felt like this was where they all belonged?
Nobody dared interrupt the flow of thoughts running through their heads like a river. Edward had grabbed Bella's hand, Jacob had squeezed Renesmee to his chest, Carlisle and Esme had closed their eyes, caught in the spell of a sorrowful hug, Jasper had slid his arm around Alice's waist and pulled her across his chest, in a huge embrace, and Emmett had crushed his lips against Rosalie's. This way, they all shared a moment of sadness, they didn't dare move, they wanted to delay the leaving time, but they all knew they had to go. With a last sigh, and glance at this place they were going to leave, they stepped towards their cars.
