F4 POEM PART 1
She walks unseen down the corridor
Reaching her destination, eyeing the unexpected gore
Holding her breath, she listens to Reed
His voice in her ear, a distraction she needs
Slowly she reaches out to retrieve what was stolen
More valuable than something made of diamonds or golden
If she fails at this it could be her demise
Someone bumps into her shoulder, she releases a startled cry
They know she is there now, she is given away
But she remains invisible much to their dismay
She hurries as quiet as possible out of the room
Running, racing away from doom
She thinks she is safe until the bullet hits her back
Her body appears again as she meets the floor with a smack
She was so close to being with them again
So close to Johnny, Reed, and Ben
She hears the rhythm of foot steps as the enemy draws nearer
She could see him if only her vision was clearer
Feeling dizzy, gazing down at the all the red
Becoming weaker, struggling to hold up her head
Finally her attacker has reached his target
Holding his gun, watching the pool of scarlet
A smile on his lips, the most disgusting she's ever seen
His stomach is plump, the rest of him lean
Her cheek rests on the cold floor now, this is the end
Suddenly her eyes catch the image of her rocky friend
Darkness surrounds her, she must have passed out
A sharp pain in her side, she awakens with a shout
The team is all around her watching with anxious eyes
All too aware the Invisible Woman almost died
She looks to where the bullet penetrated her skin
Only to find it is healed where the hole had been
What just happened? How could this be?
I know I felt that bullet go into me
One mission failed, but a mystery presented
Was her life saved by the shooter she had resented?
