I ran as fast as I could, ignoring the sounds of annoyed shouts after me. I couldn't slow down. Not while they were both so nearby... I quickly veered to the right and into a cafe, and straight through to the back door, and out into the alley.

I hid behind one of the large and smelly bins. I didn't care for the smell, and I knew it would take me a good scrub to stop myself from smelling like this, but I didn't care. I just had to hide.

I peeked over the bins and saw the people that my mum and dad were disguised as run past. I slumped down the grotty brick wall with a sigh of relief. I was safe at last.

Or so I thought. At the slightest sign of movement in the shadows, I snapped my head to the left to look and try to see what I was up against. I watched as a man walked out of the shadows. "Who are you?" he asked.

I bit my lip, tears starting to form in my eyes when I saw who it was. One of the two people in the world worse than my mum and dad. All I could think was 'Why me?'

The man in the shadows was Dean Winchester, son of John Winchester.

He was the hunter and I was the hunted.

I knew I was going to die.

"Well?" he asked again.

"I.. I'm.." I fumbled over my words, my nervousness showing.

"You, you're?" he asked. It was quite clear he was in a hurry of some sort.

"I'm Ariel." I finally managed to say.

"Right, well, Ariel, I want you to leave here as soon as you can. There's something very bad here..." He paused for a moment before saying bad.

"Oh hell no. There is no way I'm leaving this spot! There's nothing you can do that will make me move!" I almost yelled. Dean jumped back slightly. I think I scared him..

"Your eyes..." he murmured.

"What about them?" I asked curiously. The expression on his face went dark.

"You aren't normal, are you?" he asked, reaching behind his back for something. I frowned, still curious, then shook my head.

"No.. I'm not." I replied. It was when Dean pulled out a knife from his back that I started to panic. Then I realised what had happened, my heart falling into my stomach. My eyes must have flashed white. Given me away.

"Shapeshifter..." he muttered. I bit my lip again and nodded.

"Yes... but I'm not like all the others! I'm different! I swear!" I pleaded.

"That's what they all say..." he whispered. One of my tears fell.

"Please believe me... I don't kill people. My parents want me to but I refuse to." I said.

"Why should I believe you?" he asked.

"Because... because.. I'll tell you where my parents are. They're the real killers. They want to kill me now."

"Why would you do that?" he asked cautiously.

"Like I said, they want to kill me." I pulled up the sleeve of my cardigan to show that almost all the skin has been peeled off. I heard him wretch slightly. "This is what happens when you have shapeshifters for parents and refuse to kill anything." I sighed.

"Where are they?" he asked.

"An old sewage farm 5 miles from town." I replied instantly. He nodded, then ran from the alley, leaving me unharmed and flabbergasted. "He let me go..." I whispered, pulling down the sleeve with a smile. "I'm finally free."
