"She's looks more like you everyday, Edward." Charlotte spoke with loving eyes towards Renesmee. She had never dreamt in her eternal life of conceiving a child with her dearest mate, but only ever fantasized about what their child might look like. She had wondered what Renesmee would grow to be, and even the things she may accomplish were still a mystery even to the Cullen Clan. Carlisle still clueless, even with the evidence of Nahuel still alive, Renesmee had already stopped aging at an unusual time. Physically ten years old, she noticed the stress from the dog they called Jacob. Charlotte noticed that whenever age was so merely mentioned, he would tense up at the highest, changing the subject.

Imprinting. Such a foreign word to Charlotte, but since the confrontation her and Peter had witnessed, it was such a common word in the Cullen household. She often wondered if this particular subject troubled Edward, if perhaps it bothered him that his daughter's mate had already been chosen for her, against her will. It didn't seem to bother the mother much, or so Charlotte thought.

She glanced between Renesmee and her father once more, no doubt in her mind that this child belonged to him. Her features were so similar to his, that it would take a madman to say that he wasn't the one who brought this child to the world along with his wife. The way her cheek bones were perfectly sculpted into her beautiful face were exactly of Edwards, and Charlotte admired that.

"Beautiful, of course." She added quietly as she smiled down at the little hybrid that they were so fortunate to have.

"Thank you, Charlotte. Make sure to come back and see us." Bella said with a grin. Charlotte then commented mentally, just how beautiful the mother was as well. Edward nodded in agreement.

"Good-bye for now." Charlotte whispered, sadness in her voice. She watched on as Peter and his brother Jasper shook hands before their departure. And as they descended from their friends, and family for all intensive purposes, she felt a reluctant pull of hatred towards Bella.

Charlotte didn't know of these envious feelings for Bella before, but was now just discovering them. It clicked for her when she realized the reason of Rosalie's accident glares towards her sister. She now understood the true meaning of "envy" and she hated herself for feeling this way.

She made a promise to her own self, promising to never stop dreaming of the child her and Peter will never have. But reminding herself vaguely in the back of her mind as she made this promise, that it would only ever be a dream. Just a dream.
