The Battle at Riovanes

Ramza's party had finally gotten into Riovanes Castle. They had put up a fierce battle at the gates... but there was one Archer left. One that Ramza had spared... she seemed so helpless, so Ramza left her with a few X-Potions before he headed into the castle. The Archer, Jenny, looked around and saw her allies dead. The other Archers, the floating Knight was no longer floating.. his boots had been pulled off. Jenny drank the X-Potions and headed into the castle.

Jenny held her Mythril Bow tightly. She had no idea who or what was in there... she had heard a lot of screams coming from the main hall. Something moved behing her. She spun around, only to find that a body had fallen from where it was pinned to the wall. She heard swords clashing in the distance. Could it be Ramza? She had to thank him for sparing her life...

A Knight appeared from the darkness. He seemed to be possessed as he lunged forward with his Diamond Sword. Jenny jumped back and fired. The shot bounced off the Knight's shield. As Jenny got a closer look at the Knight, she saw a dark aura coming off of him. She knew what it meant... it meant he was undead... and curative medicines and magic were harmful to undead. She pulled out on of her spare phoenix downs and threw it at the undead Knight. The Knight immediately collapsed. Jenny had to hurry, however, as the Knight may only be down for five minutes or less. A phoenix down is only a temporary method of defeating undead.

Jenny made her way towards the noise. She heard a girl scream as she passed the meeting room... the swords stopped clashing suddenly. Then there was a loud explosion followed inhuman roars. She heard someone shout 'Ramza!'. Must have been one of his allies... maybe she could join Ramza's party... he had spared her after all... maybe he just didn't want her in this dangerous battle... she made her way into the hall where she heard the fighting. She saw Ramza at the top of the stairs. He had just finished off a large monster. His allies were scattered around, healing their wounds. Ramza spotted Jenny.

"Jenny! You've healed nicely!" Ramza said.

Jenny simply nodded. She heard a noise from above. It sounded like someone arguing... Ramza and his allies followed. Ramza stopped at the exit. He turned towards Jenny.

"Jenny, you want to come with us? It sounds like Rafa's in trouble!" Ramza asked.

Rafa? Jenny thought. Oh, That girl... she escaped when Malak was injured.

"Yeah, I'm coming.." Jenny replied.

Ramza's allies were already in position. There was a ninja and an engineer.

Mustadio... Jenny thought.

Duke Barinten had shot Malak! Why would he do that? An unknown enemy grabbed Barinten from behind and threw him off the castle.

"Oh no!" Jenny cried.

Two women appeared with.. Marquis Elmdor... it was said that he was killed...

"Rafa! Malak!" Ramza exclaimed.

"We should be able to drive them off if we can injure at least one of them!" Mustadio said.

Injure one of them? Jenny saw Rafa charging towards one of the women. That could be bad! She immediately started up a Protect spell she picked up at the library.

As the protective energy passed over the rooftop, Rafa had stopped her advance and escaped to the safety of the white magic.

"She's safe... " Jenny whispered.

The ninja jumped up behind the women and threw a shuriken at one of them. Mustadio drove them off by banking a shot off the wall and hitting the same woman. The three escaped. Malak was revived by a holy stone Rafa held... Ramza went inside looking for something... he came back with another holy stone.

"I must find Alma.." Ramza said.
