Hello, guys! Ever since the Jayley wedding in 2x14, I have been meaning to write something like this, especially after the amazing glances Hayley and Klaus shared before she actually got married. A 10 chapter story of what follows between Klaus and Hayley after the awkwardness when they have to live together with Jackson, Hope and Rebekah at the compound.

Day 1: The night of the wedding, Klaus cannot take his eyes off the bride, making Rebekah believe he has other plans or rather intentions. A safe challenge coming from his sister turns Klaus into a mad alpha, who is determined to get what he wants and in the process, gaining the army he has always wanted to control. With Elijah out of the picture, only one suitor left to go, and after all, there can only be one alpha for the pack.

Her brother hadn't been looking so dull and unwilling for attention on himself for a very long time, Rebekah could remember. The ceremony had finished and she had seen it all, every single moment between Hayley and her brothers. She had been listening outside the door the minute Hayley told Elijah what she wanted and what the noble brother couldn't offer her. She placed her hands on her hips before the wedding and listened closely, realizing the truth behind Hayley's words. The wolf girl always set her mind out to what she wanted and she really did, want someone who can love her the way she deserves to be loved. Rebekah pitied her and more and more she realized how alike they were.

Niklaus was standing at the balcony, facing outdoors. The parade has begun and wolves were showing off their new skills all over town. Rebekah took a deep breath and came inside the room, just as she watched an angry Elijah leave. She just knew it. Another rough patch between the two and it was no wonder that it was about Hayley. "Nik." She whispered as she watched him. He would not face her, even though he felt her. He was busily looking down at the newly-wed couple, dancing to the parade. He was thinking just of how radiant and gorgeous she looked when she was happy. She was no longer frightened. Her wolves were safe and she had her daughter back. She needed no more than that.

"Killer party, isn't it? I am inclined to believe that even though Hayley is showing a pretty wonderful smile, she is not well on the inside." Rebekah finally whispered, as she looked down with her brother standing beside her. He would offer her no response and that angered her more than she would have thought. "So now, you are just going to be a bore all night long?" Klaus continued watching, saying nothing, until the people parading the newly-weds have passed the corner and could no longer be seen. The Original Hybrid turned his back on his sister and grabbed a bottle of scotch.

"A drink, sister?" he called out and offered Rebekah a glass, as she stared at him with an eyebrow raised and her hands on her hips. "Are you really going to continue changing the subject?" "For God's sake, Rebekah, what do you expect me to say? That I am happy about this marriage? Well, I am not…and I don't think Jackson is going to be for long either." He gulped down the rest of his drink, as he went back to the balcony and resumed in silence. "This is about Hayley, isn't it?" Rebekah challenged him and stepped over, placing her hand on his on the rail. Her brother pulled it back at once. "There is no need for your pity talk, Rebekah and I will not have it at all." He continued to show the grumpier side of him and Rebekah could finally figure him out. He was upset about Hayley. She could remember the way she saw Nik and Hayley gazing at one another during the ceremony. The way she offered him a small smile and he refused to offer one back. Rebekah could remember, not even a smirk showing on his face. Nothing that would give one the impression that he liked what was going on.

"Oh, Nik you darn fool! Why didn't you say anything before this atrocity happened?" Rebekah finally asked, exasperated. "What did you expect me to say, sister?" "That you're not okay with it. You should have told Hayley before…" "I tried!" he snarled at her and showed her his hybrid teeth but he knew better than to try to intimidate Rebekah. He would get nowhere with her and it would only piss her off, as usual. "Tried how?" "I told her that I don't trust this man around my daughter, but as a skilled manipulator that she is…" Klaus threw the glass against the wall, making Rebekah smile at him. "She frustrates you, doesn't she?" "You cannot possibly imagine." "How did she manipulate you?" "She claimed that I am not capable of trusting anyone. I showed her that I trust her, more than she knows."

"And what happened after that?" A small smile appeared on her brother's face and it made Rebekah wonder what really had happened between them while she was gone. "She told me that she trusts Jackson and if I trust her…then I should very well trust her judgment and her opinion of that lad." Rebekah smirked as she saw Klaus pick up the whole bottle of scotch and bring it to his lips. When he was this angry and this confused, the alcohol eased him up, and drinking it from the bottle had a greater effect, his sister knew. "If you ask me…you need to establish your feelings for her." "I beg your pardon?" he eyed her warily.

"I think you know how you got yourself into this mess in the first place; Nik and you know what I am talking about. I've seen the way you looked at her during the ceremony, and the way she looked at you." "You are making assumptions, sister." "Really? Am I? Then, you don't know Hayley as well as you thought you did." "Are you bloody insane? She has her infatuation going on with Elijah and their petty love exists." "No, it doesn't." Klaus had his mouth parted in shock at what his sister was telling him. "So, you do admit that if it weren't for Elijah…" Rebekah began but he quickly shook his head. "I am going to retire to my chambers." "Why did you invite Hayley and Jackson to live here with us?"

"Because as I have told you, I don't trust Jackson even though I have approved of this marriage in order to receive that werewolf army Hayley has desperately wanted to protect Hope. I need to watch him at all times and what better way to do that than to have him here." "I had some different answers in mind." Rebekah mumbled. "Really? Pray tell, sister." Klaus sounded amazed. "That you are afraid of Jackson becoming the better father for Hope…and if you let Hayley move to the bayou, you might lose her." "That is preposterous." "If you say so, brother." "ENOUGH, REBEKAH!" "Hush, Nik! The others might hear you." "There is no one left here but us and Hope."

"Which reminds me, that I better go and watch over her until Hayley arrives." Rebekah told him, with a sigh. But an idea popped into her mind the moment she stepped outside of the room. She knew very well what she saw between Hayley and Niklaus today during the wedding…that look…she couldn't get it out of her head and she knew that her brother would never admit to having these sort of feeling for Hayley. Her brother would never let himself love or be loved in return. Love is not something he considers he needs or even deserves. His daughter shed some light on that aspect. Klaus believes that would be enough for him for a lifetime, but deep inside of him, Rebekah knew he would always long for someone, a beautiful, smart and strong female, his supporter, his anchor, his equal and someone with whom he could raise his daughter. Niklaus has been longing for his own little family for too long and deep down; Rebekah knew that she and Elijah being his one true family would never truly cut it.

She and Niklaus had the same desires. Rebekah felt something inside of her heart when she saw Hayley walk down the aisle in that dress. She wished she would be the bride one day. She wished she would be the one to walk down the aisle, get married and have children. She has always wanted that and Nik…he wanted that too. "A wife and a child." Rebekah whispered as she looked back and watched her brother deep in sorrow as he looked out on the balcony. Then the thought occurred to her and a smile played on her lips. Oh, Nik was so going to thank her for this later. She went back onto the balcony and Klaus groaned when he saw her. "What do you want now? I thought you had decided to take care of Hope." "I was just thinking that you could have married Hayley in the first place."

"What?" Klaus whispered after a moment of silence. "You are the alpha of a different pack, a pack that is known to be looking for a way to get back to the city. You could have married Hayley, spared her having to marry someone she doesn't love, you could have raised your daughter without any complications involved, Hayley would have become my sister-in-law as I have always wanted and at last, and you would have been the leader of this werewolf army instead of Jackson." Rebekah explained, leaving her brother in thoughts. "I do not wish…" he finally begun but Rebekah scoffed and cut him off. "This is me you're talking to, remember?" He stayed silent for a moment, contemplating on what he should say to her. "The offer is tempting?" Rebekah asked him with a smirk after the awkward silence.

"What makes you think that I would have any interest in marrying Hayley?" Klaus asked her enraged all of a sudden and Rebekah knew how she wanted to play this. "Because you want to be alpha of the pack, dear fool of a brother that you are. If you had gotten Hayley to marry you, won her heart, you would have had this pack all to yourself to lead and do with as you please, but…you let Jackson marry her. Hope is now going to have a step-father, much to your disliking…you will have to get used to not receiving Hayley's attention whenever you want it…" "Very well, you made your point." Klaus stopped her. "It's a shame." Rebekah whispered and a smile played on her lips when she knew she was pushing his buttons. "What do you propose?" Klaus finally asked her. "You can still win Hayley for yourself. You can find a witch to cancel her marriage with Jackson. I wouldn't mind asking Davina for a favor. And you can marry Hayley and lead the pack on your own."

She had him right where she wanted him. Rebekah would have burst out laughing when she could clearly see a ray of hope flash in her brother's eyes. She was playing him, to get what he truly wants. "Hayley will never accept to marry someone like me." He finally whispered. "Which is why I told you…you must conquer her heart first. You can win her over. I know her." "She is not like that. I cannot fawn over her…" "So you are considering this?" When he didn't answer, Rebekah continued talking.

"I am willing to make a bet with you that if you try this, you will have won her heart in ten days' time, starting today." Once again, a laugh broke from his lips. "This won't happen." Would it hurt for you to try?" "So you want me to manipulate her in order to get what I want?" "Nik, you said it yourself that she is not someone you care about romantically. Where is the harm then? You have manipulated many other girls in your past, haven't' you?" She got him there, and he had difficulty responding her. "She is your best friend, as I recall. You wouldn't subdue her to this without a reason, Rebekah…what are you truly planning?" "I am not planning anything, brother other than wanting her out of this unhappy marriage. No woman should ever marry a man she doesn't love, for no matter what reason." "But you are insisting she marries me." "At least she will be marrying someone she can trust. We are still unsure of Jackson's intentions." He looked at her for a moment before whispering, "Ten days?"

"Starting right now. They must be back from that parade." Rebekah crossed her hands over her chest and smiled at him. Klaus smiled back and set down the bottle of scotch, leaving the room. "Oh, Nik." Rebekah burst out laughing and started shaking her head. He really had no idea what he had gotten himself into. "They will be all over one another in no time." Rebekah giggled to herself. How long would it have to go on for until they both crack? Tricking her brother into seducing Hayley was not difficult but what would she do when they both found out what she was really up to? And what would Hayley say when Niklaus would start charming her?

"I had a good time." Hayley whispered as she opened the door, reflecting the new bedroom Klaus had set up for them. Jackson chuckled and said, "Well, now what should be do for the rest of the night, wife?" Hayley went forward and smiled when she saw her daughter in her crib, placed right in their room. Why would Klaus do that? Hayley didn't think that he would be comfortable with letting Hope alone with Jackson, but once again, he had proven her wrong. She smiled at the thought of him, but a confusing feeling washed over her when she remembered how he didn't return her smile at the ceremony. Was he not happy? They both agreed to this…and this was for Hope. She had the army she needed. "Hayley? Are you okay?" Jackson asked her.

Hayley caressed her daughter's cheek as she was sleeping and whispered, "Yes, I am fine." "Well, what do you want to do on our wedding night?" She smiled at him as he asked. "As you said, I think I would love it if we just sat here for a couple of moments, watching her sleep." There was a knock on the door and Jackson turned around, wanting to roll his eyes the minute he recognized Klaus' famous smirk on his face. "And how are the newly-weds settling in your new accommodations?" he asked, but he was mostly looking at Hayley, as he was asking. "I know this place. I lived here for a while, Klaus." Hayley told him with a smirk of her own and he chuckled, stepping closer and looking down, watching their daughter sleep. "I would prefer it if we moved her to the nursery." He suddenly whispered.

"But why? I thought you were the one who brought her here." Hayley asked, surprised. "Unfortunately, no. As this used to be her nursery and you and Jackson are staying in your room, I would prefer it if we moved her someplace else, for the whole family to be near her." Hayley eyed him warily, as though she knew what he was up to. "Klaus, this has nothing to do…" He rose up his hand with a smile, and whispered, "I know, little wolf. But I am also sure that you and Jackson would prefer to have your own space…" "I like my space with my daughter." "There will be no need for Rebekah to bother you here every minute of every day. Now, would you care to accompany me to our daughter's newest nursery?" There was that smile on his face, and it was genuine. Hayley couldn't help but return it this time, realizing that she wouldn't receive Klaus Mikaelson's smile too often from now on.

Jackson cleared his throat and both Hayley and Klaus turned to look at him, unware for a moment that he was still present in the room. "Klaus, if Hayley wants to keep Hope here, then let her. It's her call and she is the mother." He pointed out, making Klaus' eyes go cold. Hayley, realizing this was going to end badly if continued, finally whispered, "No, it's perfectly okay, Jack. Klaus is right. We might need our own privacy now as married and some other people might want to spend time with Hope, that is why we should have the nursery somewhere close to the main room so other people can visit her, without interrupting us." Hayley made her point, making Klaus smile at her and Jackson eventually agreed.

The two were heading to the bedroom, prepared by Klaus. He watched her, holding Hope in her hands as they walked. His eyes were on her intensely and his hands were wrapped behind his back, as he contemplated on Rebekah's idea of her. What if he could steal her heart? What would happen between them when she learned the truth behind his reason? How will this affect their daughter? There was so much to consider and Klaus was ready to take a step back and let this marriage between Hayley and Jackson work. But her eyes met his when they reached the door. She was glowing and her eyes looked up into his, a beautiful smile on her face which warmed his heart. The mere thought of letting this woman go was unbearable. "What?" she whispered as he continued looking down at her.

He was startled and looked away, shaking his head as he opened the door for her. She gasped as she saw the beautiful chandelier hanging above the ceiling. It was beautiful, more beautiful than she could have ever imagined and this was all from him for their daughter. Hayley was trying to hold back tears, as she remembered the first time Klaus showed her the nursery he prepared for Hope. This one was even more beautiful than the first. Hayley stepped over and placed a sleeping Hope in her crib and tucked her in, as Klaus watched from the door. He imagined what it could have been like…having this been their wedding night. Her curves were the perfect shape.

She let her hair tumble from only one shoulder, revealing her exposed neck and as urge to kiss it ran over the Original Hybrid as he watched her, wide-eyed from the door. He began to wonder if this is what he wanted with her. He wanted her? Did he truly want her to be his own? He wanted her and him…together…with Hope, their little family. The three of them sticking together forever. No! Never would he allow himself to think such thoughts. This was business and the pack should be under his command, not Jackson's. Ten days, is what Rebekah offered him to win her over, and he would succeed. How was he planning on doing that…without falling into the spell of those gorgeous hazel eyes of hers?

At once, he felt warmth over his body, as he snapped out of his trance and saw Hayley, as close to him as possible, looking at him with a frown. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yes." Klaus snapped at her and raised his chin, as he always did when he was trying to hide emotions. Hayley nodded and finally she said, "Hope is fast asleep and she looks most comfortable here. We should let her be." "Of course." Klaus mumbled and stepped out of the room as she stepped out after him. "Goodnight…and thank you." Hayley said with a smile, even though she had no idea what she was thanking him for. "Anytime, love." Klaus responded with a smirk on his face. He had regained his composure. He no longer felt weakened and under her spell. He was King and a King was to lead the army of werewolves, not the suitor of the Queen. He watched her go back to her and Jackson's room and smiled as he finally decided he would be up to the challenge to win her heart.

A/N: This was the first day and there will be a total of ten chapters, one for each day. 2x14 inspired me for this mini-fic. I hope you like it and I hope it will give you all Klayley shippers some feels after the last episode watched.
