Remember Reach
Earth. The beginning, the home world. Where our species evolved and came to know our weaknesses and strength. A place of beauty. But it was not enough; problems arose, as humanity could not be contained by the vastness of space. So we pushed. To the Moon, to Mars, to the Jovian Moons, to the edge of the Sol system. All the way to Reach.
Reach. It began with it. This was the stepping stone into a new galaxy. One where humanity could find itself. One of infinite possibilities. Reach became the stepping stone to the rest of the Orion Arm, then the rest of the galaxy. A journey that would lead to the Covenant.
Covenant. The very word struck fear and hatred into the hearts and minds of much of humanity. Only through the sacrifice of many were we able to survive. The sacrifice of entire planets. Through Glassing.
Glassing. Harvest, Bliss, Madrigal, Eridanus II, Jericho VII, Actium, Arcadia, and finally, Reach. All of these and more were glassed by the Covenant. They bombarded planets using plasma, turning entire sections of the world into glass, the rest inhabitable. The very worlds in which thousands, even millions gave their lives for to defend all in vain. But the Covenant faltered, they wondered if these pesky humans would ever be able to destroy. They actually feared. They feared our Heroes.
Heroes. A person of distinguished abilities. They with there last dying breath defended our worlds so that the Covenant might not find Earth, these brave people defended Reach.
