No mercy no more

"Baymax. Destroy."

Chest rose and fell.

Hiro saw the fear in Callaghan's eyes at the order that he had given. The panic. It pleased Hiro.

"My programing prevents me from injuring a human being," Those calm words from Baymax did not help but further infuriate the boy. This was the man that Hiro had admired! This was the man who had been the final thing that had convinced Hiro to join the Nerd School! This man had killed Tadashi. Tadashi who had gone in to save this worthless pile of skin.

"Not many more," He all but growled, finger hitting the panel on Baymax's amour that went through to the robot inside and forced him to release his memory chips. For a second, Hiro noted that he had designed the armour to allow him to do this. It was a weakness for Baymax. But perhaps, the teenager considered, his own intent – however subconsciously – was not to let his brother's murderer live.

Hand clenched around the medical chip.

"Hiro, this is not what-"

Hiro reactivated Baymax.

"Do it Baymax! Destroy him!" His hand pointed accusatively at Callaghan and his words were spoken with as much care as an arachnophobe demanding that their much braver friend stamp on the offending creature.

Hiro stepped aside to let the robot do its work. This was just another bot fight. Callaghan wasn't even human after what he had done. The horror in the professor's eyes meant nothing to Hiro as he watched the old man back away, a cowardly sound escaping from the murderer's chest.

Baymax fired.

Callaghan dived to the side.

The shot missed.

Baymax turned.

GoGo tried to stop him but she was tossed aside by the robot's might.

Hiro barely spared a glance at her as he shifted slightly to keep his prey in eye sight.

He needed to see this.

He needed the revenge.

He needed the closure.

Baymax advanced on Callaghan. Dust was springing up from the battlefield as the armoured clad machine moved forward towards its target. From where Hiro stood, he couldn't see the glowing red eyes but he could see the form of Callaghan desperately trying to escape. Going so far as to trip and fall. Now had to be the moment!

Then Fred!

He pulled Baymax back and Callaghan got to his feet, running like a phantom through the abandoned building.

"No! Stop! He's getting away!" Anger was in the boy's voice as he tried to approach his friend and robot so they two could separate and Baymax could get on with his task.

Fred was thrown towards him and Hiro in surprise dropped the mask and Baymax's medical chip. Callaghan grabbed the mask before anyone could retrieve it. Hiro snatched up Baymax's chip and followed Callaghan, turning to look back at Baymax who was being swarmed by his friends. Hiro's heart beat painfully in his chest and blood roared in his ears like the sea as he stared at what was going on. Why where they doing this?

Honey Lemon appeared infront of him, blocking his view as Baymax ploughed through his friends, tossing them asunder. Hiro couldn't understand the words Honey Lemon said. He didn't even listen. She managed to wrestle the chip off of him.

The robotic hand fired.

Hiro turned and watched the trajectory.

It hit its mark.

Then everything turned too real.

Hiro's gut clenched. His legs turned to jelly. An ice dagger plunged it's into his heart.

Guilt was not something Hiro was overly familiar with. There was silence. But this time it wasn't through rage.

Hiro watched as Baymax waddled up to Callaghan and tried to help the man through his armour. After a few seconds of staring dumbstruck at what had just passed, Hiro rushed forwards. He couldn't have killed the professor. He couldn't. Callaghan was human. Not another robot. Hastily Hiro attempted to prise off Baymax's armour so the health care robot could help. He was vaguely aware that Honey Lemon must have managed to return the health care chip to its rightful place. Tadashi's chip.

"No, no, no," Hiro muttered, looking at the body before him, his sight blurring as he finally managed to liberate Baymax from the metal confinement.

"It's too late," Baymax said. "I can only administer a pain killer to ease his passing,"

"Wait, what?" Hiro exclaimed "That can't be it! You have to do something! You have to help him!" He wanted Callaghan dead. But not like this. Not… Hiro didn't know what to think. What to say.

"There is nothing I can do," Baymax said. Hiro wondered if he imagined the sadness in the robot's voice.

"Hi-ro?" The voice was faint and coughed. The boy's stomach twisted as he realised that the professor was addressing him. The words were gargled. Callaghan's complexion was paling and but his lips were getting redder.

"My… dau… ter. Ab… Abi… Revenge her," His voice almost seemed to strengthen. "My Abigale," His eyes looked up, several inches away from Hiro as if staring at something else. He breathed one more time. Baymax did not get the chance to ease the man's passing.

Hiro's knees gave up on him and he collapsed to the ground, nearly falling on the body of the professor before Hiro pushed himself away in horror. Breathing deepily.

He had just killed a man.

"Hiro?" The concerned voice of Honey Lemon broke through the wild panic. Baymax lifted Hiro into his arms and held him tight.

For the first time since Tadashi's death, Hiro cried.

"What are we going to do now?" GoGo asked, her voice soft as she looked at her class mates and friends. Wasabi looked like he was ready to faint. Honey Lemon didn't look much better. Fred was blinking as if he were trying to comprehend that this was the real world and not one of his stupid comic books.

"Snap out of it! We've got a real problem!" She said as loud as she could without attracting Hiro's attention. She was grateful that Baymax had moved away from them (or rather Callaghan's body) as it allowed them to speak a little louder.

"I… I don't know," Fred said. GoGo had expected that.

"We've got to call the police," Wasabi was predictable.

"But if we do that, Hiro will end up in prison," Honey Lemon said softly.

"Does it matter? He murdered someone," GoGo said, possibly too harshly. She didn't care about the looks they gave her. It was shocking enough that she was agreeing with Wasabi.

"Look, the law exists for a reason, some of the time. And even if I'm not a fan of obeying some laws in extenuating circumstances, this is murder. We can't hide that,"

No one brought up that Callaghan was already dead so it would be easy enough to keep this a secret.

"Of course, we'll get pulled into this as well. We allowed him to do this. And we took part," GoGo continued. Everyone looked fairly morose.

"I can get us lawyers," Fred said after a pause. "Well, Dad can. He knows this business better than I do."

It was pretty much agreed on. The only question was what Hiro was going to say about it.
