Running. Screaming. Hot skin on her face and a terrified shiver down her spine. Those eyes, so cruel. He was going to kill her.

"Marceline!" The voice snapped her from her thoughts and she trained her gaze on the owner of the voice.

"What?" She snapped. Bonnibel folded her arms across her chest and rolled her eyes.

"You were mumbling and spacing out. Are you okay?" Concern flashed over the pink woman's face and Marceline couldn't help but smile at her. Bonnibell looked almost flustered.

"Yeah. Just that memory again." Marceline sighed, smile disappearing.

"The one with the demon who al-"

"Yes." Marcy interrupted with a growl. "That one."

"Oh. I'm sorry, Marceline." Bonnibel said softly. Marcy remained on the bed, but sitting up. She didn't really have to sleep or anything, but she chilled sometimes.

"You didn't do it."

"Well, no, but... I can't fix it."

"Bonnibell, you can't fix everything." Marceline scoffed. Bonnibel shrugged.

"Says who?" She challenged, hands now on her hips. Marcy chuckled.

"Says me." She shot back at the Princess.

Bonnibel remained silent for a moment, glancing around. Then she yawned, stretching. "I could use a nap. Mind if I lay with you?"

Marceline looked at Bonnibel curiously. "Sure..." Her tone was guarded.

"Maybe the thoughts won't be as bad." The other woman suggested. Marcy chuckled again.

"You think you can ward off my bad thoughts?" She asked. Bubblegum shrugged and snuggled into the bed. Marceline sighed and laid next to Bonnibel, who curled up against her chest.

"I can try." Bonnibel murmured.

Not that Marcy would admit it to Princess Bubblegum but... she did help. The Vampire Queen could use comfort sometimes, after all.
