A/N - It's short. It's a one-shot anyway. You should try reading this story by first clicking the width: 1/2. It's better to view that way. :)

Me and her were different. Not from what we liked but for the most part it's what we do. Yeah, so what if we were royalty, what mattered was what we did as we lived our perfect lives. I wasn't very picky about what I did so instead of staying inside and trying to act snobby and rich I ventured wherever my mind set me off to. She—Okay, I don't know for sure but from the looks of her overly large palace I guess she had plenty of things to do.

She told me a lot about her days with her mother when she was young – now it's okay to say she was probably never allowed outside anywhere far from their home…or allowed outside at all. I pity her I guess. Maybe that's what really separates me and her. She didn't have control over her own freedom or her own will to do anything she deemed suitable for her.

Her mother was a very down-to-earth person. As for her father, he was the exact opposite. He's strict and made the rules about what they can and can't do. (I have a mother who nit-picks everything I do. Uuugh, so annoying…) I have to admit I had thoughts of…slaying him.

I would only come to play with her when her father wasn't monitoring everything she did. I was her only friend, she told me once. We met on some occasions when they would host a party and invite me and my family. I first started talking to her when all the kids were bunched together in one huge round shaped table, I didn't know why they gathered us like that but decided I wouldn't protest against it, even though I normally would. All the kids were…well…acting kids while I watched completely uninterested. That changed when I looked at her. She gave me this confused look that said, "What now?" and I replied with a simple shrug.

We sit there for a moment in silence until I finally ask what her name is. "Elika," She says in a gentle voice. "Prince," I say back and she made this peculiar face. Maybe that was what I liked about her back then. She would always make these funny faces at every bizarre thing I said…of course.

From that day on, we continued our friendship.

I'm not as stubborn, loud-mouthed, daring, and resolute as her but we were meant to be friends…maybe even more. Maybe I am attracted to girls like her. That's why I stood by her side all the way through those tough times even though it took me a while to realize that I did indeed like her like that. As different as we are, we're sort of the same in a way…right? We fill each others gaps that's too difficult for us to reach or regard 'cause we're too afraid we'll mess up. Sometimes I wonder if that day we first met I changed her the way she changed me?

A/N – Yeah, it was something I wrote randomly. I really liked the game and I really liked Prince and Elika's relationship. They're a funny couple. Ha-ha. Anyways, I know that's not how they met originally but…whatever. That's what fanfiction's for right? It's so you can publish stories you write, they don't always have to be about the show/game/anime/movie/book blah blah blah. Mhmm, I know that my story doesn't have a 'lesson learned' feeling to it but…I dunno…it was just something I felt like writing. I'm not even sure if my story makes sense ;___; Oh God, help me.
