Hey all just a short story about Jade Shepard some time after mass effect 3. Please read and rate, I always need feed back. Thanks :)
Jade limped over to the window in one of the barely used rooms in the Citadel. Here she could be herself, her injuries making her hobble like Joker despite her façade she put on around everyone. Leaning her hands on the big window she looked out at the vast space. She had often though it would have been better if humans had never found this 'new' world full of Turians, Asari, Quarian, you name it. It would have been a simpler life, though it would never have saved them from the reapers, not really. Despite the fact they were re-building the patch of space the window she looked out looked peaceful, as if nothing even happened. Flash backs appeared to her then. They had been happening quite often, just as like when she had touched that prothean beacon all the that time ago. This time instead of having the blurriness and confusion it was plain as day. Instead of seeing a possible 'vision' she was re-living a memory. She found her knees had started to buckle despite the pain it made vibrate up her nerves. Her vision clouded by tears.
There she was stood on a burning earth as she heard men and women, even children screaming. There screams fading to gun shots and grenade blasts. In the real world The Commander's hands had made their way to her hair, gripping at it had she mumbled for it to stop.
Finally snapping out of the flash back she took a shaky breath, slowly moving her hands away from her hair and roughly rubbing her eyes clearing them of the unwanted liquid. "I don't regret being the one chosen to protect earth from this universe, I just regret not being able to save them all. I regret getting a second chance when they never really had one." Shaking her head trying to clear her thoughts she began limping away, the limping turning to normal walking and her attitude turning back to 'The Commander' any trace of the break down left far behind as she left the room.
