Lost Voice Prologue:

Abyss: And I finally decided to get off my chair and do a real story. I mean, I can't just let those poor fanfics just sit around in my folders waiting to be published, right? And guess what, I appear again!
Miku: Abyss does not own us! He only borrows us for fanfics!
Abyss: And that's that. Enjoy the prologue of Lost Voice.

- Miku's P.O.V -

"S-She's waking up!" "Call Kaito!" "Thank goodness…." I blinked my eyes open. "G-Guys-" I immediately stopped. My voice.

There was something wrong with it.

Why didn't it sound right? It sounded…. a bit… robotic? Why? I looked at the door as my worried friend Kaito burst into the room. "Miku!? Thank God! You're in a hospital by the way." He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Kaito? What happened…?" I asked, and then suddenly remembered the events that took place.

Flashback…

Screams and cries were heard throughout the room. "DON'T MOVE AND STOP SCREAMING, YOU STUPID TWITS!" the man with a knife yelled at the frightened people.

"Mikuo…." I looked at my brother, who was sweating and staring nervously at the man. He shot me a look that said, 'Don't worry, I'm coming!'

You see, a knife was pointed at my neck. Suddenly the police flocked into the room, all armed with dangerous guns. "SHOOT AND I'LL KILL THIS GIRL!" A moment of silence, and then all hell broke loose.

I felt a pain in my neck and passed out soon after, the blurry figure of my brother running towards me the last thing I saw.

I shivered at the memory. "Kaito…. Where's Mikuo?" "In another room. He got shot in the shoulder." he said. "What!?" "Don't speak so loudly. We're not sure of the device yet." A man with blonde hair and green eyes came in. He was wearing a white coat.

A doctor?

"What device?" I asked him. "Haven't you noticed the collar around your neck?" he asked me. "What!?" I fumbled around my neck, realizing that there WAS a collar there. "Don't attempt to pry it off. It'll malfunction and shock you."

"But what exactly is this!?" "It's a device to generate a voice for you." the doctor said. "The name's Abyss, by the way." Hell, his parents sure loved him. "You see, you survived a blow to the neck for some reason, but you lost your voice. So we had to create a device to generate a new voice."

"So I'm part-robot?" "Not exactly." Abyss coughed. "The device is still a bit zippy, though." "Zippy?" "Yep. It's still a prototype, so it's very delicate and must be handled with care."

Luka looked at the doctor. "There's another user of this device, am I right?" Abyss looked surprised at first, but a smile made it on his face. "Hm, you're sharp. Yes, there was another user. I think her name was Aria."

"A-Aria-san!?" I asked suddenly. I knew that girl. She did a duet with me once! "Oh yeah, you were with her on one concert before, right?" Abyss scratched the back of his head. "Nearly forgot."

"Anyway, you can get out of here tomorrow. Grow accustomed to your new voice until then." Abyss said and walked out of the room.

I sighed and gripped the sheets of the bed tightly. "What do I do now…?" I asked.

You see, I am Hatsune Miku, a very popular idol, and I just lost my voice.

Abyss: It's done! The prologue is done! Yes! I feel like running around now!
Gakupo: Abyss-san, you're like a child.
Abyss: AM NOT. Anyway, stay tuned for more of this one!
