Fai leaned on the edge of deep pool that held his brother's body. He let out a soft sigh and let his tiny hand skim the top of the water creating little ripples that grew as they spread across the pool. Fai sighed again and fully submerged his hand under the water stretching his fingers out. Trying but failing reach his brother. Fai hm'phed and rested his cheek against edge keeping his hand in the water.
"I'm sorry Fai, I'm trying. I wont stop until I bring you back. I promise. I'll do what ever I have to."
Fai lifted his head and stared down at the identical face.
"I swear."
"Hmm? Little boys shouldn't swear Fai"
Fai started with a slight gasp. "Ashura-Sama! I..I'm sorry! I didn't hear you come in." Fai pushed himself up and tried to bow to Ashura but slipped on the edge of long robes. Nearly falling falling on his face. Fai blushed deeply stuttering an apology. Ashura smiled and laughed softly.
"Your fine, my child. There's no need to be so formal around me." Ashura walked to the pool and rested his hand on Fai's tiny shoulder. "Your brother is safe Fai. There's no need to worry."
Fai looked up at him. "I..I know" He said softly "But I miss him." Fai started to sniffle "it's not fair! It's not our fault that we're twins! How could we control that?" Fai started crying "It's not our fault, why do people hate us?"
Ashura pulled the small child into his arms, shushing the sobbing boy. "Fai, no one here hates you. I know you miss your brother but one day you will see him again. Please remember Fai that nothing was your fault. It was never your fault. It will never be your fault." A slightly far away look came over Ashura's eyes. Fai let out a soft whimper and the look disappeared from Ashura's face. Ashura smiled down at Fai and hugged the boy closer. "Never your fault" He repeated softly. "Never"
