Forever

Pairing: SesshomaruXRin. Father/Daughter.
The Sesshomaru lead the way of his group as always. Jaken ran behind him and Rin rode on AhUn. He sniffed the air for Naraku's scent and continued when he didn't find it. The sun was setting and they would need to rest. His sudden stop caused Jaken to run into his leg for the millionth time.
"M'lord?"
"We're stopping here tonight." he said.
Rin jumped off of AhUn and quickly made a fire. She and Jaken had also caught fish for dinner, which the Inu didn't eat, and settled down to sleep. When Jaken was snoring loudly, Rin spoke.
"Lord Sesshomaru?"
"Yes, Rin?" he answered.
"Rin was just wondering if Lord Sesshomaru would let Rin stay with him forever." she mumbled, but his sharp hearing caught it.
The demon lord's eyes widened, that had not been what he was expecting. He felt her look at him intensely and a small bit of warmth that she wanted to stay. He looked at her.
"Do as you wish." he answered.
He was pleased at the grin he got in return. She layed down and fell to sleep.
(5 years later)
Sesshomaru sniffed the air and his eyes zoomed around in panic. He had smelled blood, Rin's blood. When he heard a soft groan he saw her. What he saw broke his ice covered heart. Rin was of the ground, a deep slash through her cheast. He ran over.
"Rin, wake up." he said.
She opened her eyes and looked up at him. He couldn't heal her again with his sword, he had to get her to a healer. She smiled at him and caressed his face.
"Rin is sorry." she whispered.
"For what?" he asked, surprised.
"Rin can not keep her promise to Lord Sesshomaru." she choked out some blood." She can't stay with you forever."
"It will be fine. Don't talk, I'll find you a docotor." he said quickly.
Rin started to cry and she gasped for breath.
"Rin loves Lord Sesshomaru as a father. She wonders if he feels the same before she goes."
"You'll be fine, Rin! I'll-I-" he heard her heart slowing, he wasn't going to make it."This Sesshomaru sees you as his daughter and will not let you die!"
He grabed her small hand, it was cold! She laughed weakly and closed her eyes. Her heart wasn't beating.
"Rin? Rin. Rin! Rin, wake up! Come on!" he yelled, tears began to fall."Please, don't go."
