She hated it, to be honest.

Wasn't she Isabella? Wasn't she always supposed to get what she wanted?

And if she didn't get her way from the get-go, she would fight tooth and nail to achieve her dreams until she succeeded, no matter what she wanted.

It was all so, so wrong.

She dialed the wrong number.

She called the wrong brother.

But she didn't hang up.

"Isabella?" Ferb asked, slightly confused but not at all displeased.

Wrong.

"Oh, hey Ferb! I was... I had a couple tickets to see that play this weekend, and I was wondering if you wanted to come. We could get dinner afterward."

He knew it was wrong too; the slight pause as he gathered his thoughts spoke volumes of what he thought of this.

"Of course," he finally said, still clearly shocked and clearly unsure, voice wavering slightly. "You... I thought you wanted to take Phineas."

Her mouth moved faster than her brain. "Well, he's always so busy, and... Honestly, Ferb, I've been waiting for him far too long. Is it... Is that okay?"

Was that a lie? Make couldn't even tell. Where had her ambition gone, where had her love for Phineas gone.

Had she ever really loved him in the first place?

But even though this was wrong, wrong, wrong, she had never in her life heard Ferb so elated as when he replied, "Well, this is really sudden, but I can't say I don't like it. I'll see you then."

And as time flew, as days passed, suddenly she was watching a local production of A Midsummer Night's Dream with Ferb (not Phineas).

Ferb put an arm around her.

It felt wrong – too strong and muscular to be Phineas' (he probably did a lot of lifting from all those projects).

She leaned into him, feeling the smooth fabric of his white button-down shirt instead of Phineas teeshirt.

Daringly, he kissed the back of her head – phineas would never... It was wrong.

And as they walked out, holding hands, their hands didn't quite fit together right.

Ferb's were large, strong, and calloused.

Isabella's were dainty, small, and nimble.

Imperfect, her brain tried to tell her.

Wrong.

But Ferb wasn't supposed to be Phineas.

Ferb was Ferb.

It was with that realization that she pulled him in for a kiss.

A/N: *returns to fandom one year late with Starbuck's* Hey guys, guess who's still alive? I'm kinda... not really active in this fandom anymore, but I woke up this morning and thought, "eh, why not". The world could always use more Ferbella anyway, even if this is only a drabble ;)
