"Sev!" A rush of red and white flew through the air and snaked her arms around the tall man's waist. Severus Snape blushed lightly and stared down at the female before running his hands trough the gentle waves of her hair.
"Hey…" he mumbled, awkwardly, pulling away from her. He should not be doing this, she could not be doing this., she belonged to another. This wasn't aloud to happen.
"I'm so glad you came!" Lilly grinned from ear to ear, practically glowing, looking much like an angel, being that she was dressed in all white. White heels, diamond jewelry with white gold rims, white flowers pinned into her hair, a white veil…and a white dress, her wedding dress. He hated the thing for all that it symbolized. The end of his hopes… "You have no clue how much this means to me!" But he did. He saw her expression, saw her bridesmaids, saw him. That scum…Potter.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world Lills." He mumbled.
"So you approve?" She asked, eyes wide. He grimaced. No, of course not, he couldn't approve. Her beau was a scum sucking, heart breaking, cruel bastard with a broomstick for a brain…that and he…
Severus stared at her hopeful expression and his heart shattered. This answer meant the world to her. He'd have to lie. His heart began to shatter. He loved her, he loved her, God help him, he loved her! He had to tell her now! Before she made the biggest mistake of her life! He had to take back those awful words he said to her! But he couldn't, for her sake and for the fact he choked on those words before he even thought them.
"Yeah, definitely." His voice was unenthusiastic, even to himself as he lied through his teeth. James Potter made her happy, she deserved to be happy. And as much as he hated the man, as much as he loved her he had no say in it. He was her best friend, nothing more, now or ever…
