Jess guided Rory over to the diner's counter. Luke was showing Lorelei the few pieces of jewelry that his mother had left him.
"Oh, Jess. This is beautiful," Rory said, picking up a delicate diamond ring.
Lorelei poked Rory in the side. "Your soon-to-be fiancé takes you here to pick out a ring and you pick up the smallest one! Have I taught you nothing?" Lorelei then picked up a gaudy costume ring.
"Jess," Rory turned to him, "I love this one." She held out the small diamond ring for him to take.
He took the ring, and palmed it. It was perfect.
Jess got down on one knee in front of Rory. She offered him her hand. He took it.
He started to put the ring on, but paused. "My grandmother had these crazy small fingers. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't fit-"
The ring slipped on her ring finger.
