No day had ever started off good for Ryou Bakura. He would wake up, occasionally find his worthless drunk of a father asleep at his bedside, and dig through pile after pile of clothes to find something that wasn't torn or urinated on by his pet cat. After that, he would go downstairs, grab the Millennium Ring and his backpack, ignore his mother's bitching about not eating breakfast, and run outside to get to school as fast as possible. Bakura hated everything about his home life, and he would have rather been able to stay at school forever than go back.
For one thing, at least at school, he was surrounded by people who cared about him.
"Hey, Bakura! Get the hell out of my way, fag!"
"Stop staring at me with those big, gay eyes!"
"You're ugly!"
"Quit standing around and be useless somewhere else!"
"Go away and spare us all from your damnation, bitch!"
"Hey, Chunk! Mind being my punching bag for a while?"
"LIMEY!!"
"I HATE YOUUUUUUUUUU!!"
"BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA!"
"You're still here? Dammit! My dreams of you moving away have been shattered!"
...Or not.
'Why do you let them treat you like this? Why don't you stand up for yourself?' asked the spirit within the Ring (A.K.A. Yami Bakura) after Bakura was trampled over by the entire student body, including the faculty and staff.
Wiping some blood off of his face, Bakura mentally replied, 'It's not that I don't want to do anything...I just can't. I mean, I'm not very strong, I don't have alot of courage, and I bruise easily. I have no choice but to live with it. School is the only place that I feel at ease...'
'You feel at ease here? That's a load of bull!' Yami Bakura snapped, 'No matter where you go, you're always been bossed around and hated by people for no apparent reason! If you don't buck up and do something about it, you could end up getting killed! And that would definitely not help me in the future!'
Bakura sighed; he knew that Yami Bakura was right, but what could he do about it? Thinking for a while, an idea finally came to him. It was a little risky, but it sounded like it could finally help him gain he respect he so rightfully deserved.
Slowly, Bakura walked to the classroom and looked out the window. He could see everyone outside on the field, playing games and smiling and having fun. All of them were happy...except for him. All of them had lives that were worth living...
'So...what's the plan?' Yami Bakura asked, but his host just ignored him.
Bakura opened the window and allowed the gentle breeze brush against his face. The sun was shining high in the sky, and there wasn't a single dark cloud in sight. The birds were tweeting, and the laughter and cries of the people below seemed barely noticeable to him.
It was such a beautiful day...nothing could go wrong on days like this...
'Hey...Bakura? What's wrong? I can't seem to sense your emotions anymore. What are you planning on doing? Hey! Hey!'
So warm...so happy...so free...
'Bakura! Are you listening to me? Don't ignore me! Hey! Bakura!! I can't take control over your body! What are you doing?'
I always wanted it to happen...on a day like this...
'BAKURA!'
With his arms held out high, Bakura tumbled out of the open window. A younger student glanced up and saw it; he cried out, but it was too late to do anything.
A smile was evident on Bakura's lips...right before he hit the ground.

Now...they'll have to pay attention to me...they'll have to feel sorry for me...
Heh heh...now they will...
