This is where it all begins. Reba wondered why it had taken so long for her to meet a man like Shawn. She had spent so many wonderful years with Brock, and she has the most amazing children in the world, but wouldn't life have just been easier with Shawn? But, no, she thought, everything happens for a reason. That's why she found him now. And that's why they're getting married. She had only been dating Shawn for a month, but it was love at first kiss, when they shared that passionate peck on only their second date. We'll take it back to just those 4 weeks before now.
(In the family's living room)
Reba said, " Yes kids, I have a date tonight. And Kyra, don't you be telling Jake any 'new daddy' stories again! It's only a first date, and he's a very nice guy. If I have fun, we'll go out again. Then I'll bring him back so I can get the verdict in from the jury. But of course, none is worse than Van's. So shut your mouth this time!"
Van-" Mrs. H! You have to make sure we meet him before you go out tonight. He could be a crazed psycho, just waiting to get to each and every one of us!"
Reba-"Well, then it's better if he only gets to me. I'm going to get ready, there's lasagna in the oven, and Cheyenne is in charge. Well, scratch that. Jake's in charge," Reba says, chuckling at the thought of leaving ANY of her children in charge.
(Reba exits)
Cheyenne- "Van, what are we going to do if this one doesn't work out? Her love clock is ticking!!"
Van- "Oh, Cheyenne, don't worry. There's lasagna in the kitchen!"
Cheyenne-"Ugh!"
(Cheyenne walks away, and the scene moves to Reba's date. Reba enters the restaurant in a beautiful green dress.)
Reba locks eyes with her date, Shawn. They had met just two days ago on the park bench. But she instantly felt a connection.
Shawn- "Reba! I'm so glad we could do this. I am really excited for this evening. But this restaurant seems a little uptight, don't you think? So let's get out of here and have some real fun."
Reba- "Well, I'm glad you said that, because my family was SO worried about me going out with you tonight. What do you say we go back to my house, I made lasagna, and if my son-in-law hasn't gotten to it, there should be some left!"
Shawn- "Sounds perfect!"
(The two leave the restaurant and go back to Reba's. She felt eyes as soon as the car pulled up.
Reba- "Don't look now, but there are 5 kids, a Brock and a Barbara Jean staring at you out the window right now. Haha"
Shawn- "Oh fun, even your ex and his wife are worried about you?! It's good that you have so many people that care about you. I just hope I can make a good impression, or else I might not make it through the night!"
Reba- "Well, if they liked Brock, they'll love you! Ha!"
(the couple enters the house.)
Barbara Jean- "Ha! You couldn't even afford to take her out, you had to come home and mooch off of her? Reba we need to get rid of this man!"
Reba- "BJ why don't YOU go home and watch to make sure he left."
Barbara Jean- "You don't think I'm falling for THAT again do you?"
Reba- "Shawn I am very sorry about this. Why don't we go out on the porch and talk?"
