The Road Not Taken

A Xiaolin Showdown Fanfiction

By Blues59

Prologue

If you were to ask the many aquentsics of the Spicer family about it's youngest member Jack you would most definitely receive several different answers, but one thing that they would all have in common was 'They have a child?' Indeed the Spicer's did have a son but he was unlike any Spicer before him. Jack was a loner and a self-proclaimed genius. This claim wasn't unfounded though as his report card showed. Straight "A's" in every category except for gym but then again how many brilliant minds in the world have perfect gym scores? Yes, Jack Spicer was a genius. Although for all of his intelligence he could not overcome his greatest trial, and his greatest fear, loneliness.

Yes the life of the brilliant Jack Spicer was devoid of any friends, companions, buddies, and/or chums. It isn't as if he hadn't tried to make friends, but everyone he came into contact with fell into one of two categories either they only wanted to be his friend so they could cheat off of his test's and get him to do their homework. Or they only wanted to be around him because of his parent's wealthy status.

Indeed it seemed like Jack would be alone in the world forever. Even his creations the Jackbots, were in the end only machines that could be programmed to do or say anything. So to fill the emptiness in his life Jack decided that one day he would conquer the entire world. Yes that's correct. He decided that if no one cared for him then he would make them care. Care about whether or not he'd destroy them once he ruled over them.

"What about his parents?" Some asked. The truth was Jack did have parents, two well meaning but distant parents that spent their time partying and mingling with the elite. His parents traveled all over the globe in search of good times ignoring the plight of their lonely little boy back home. His parents didn't entirely forget about him though. Whenever their conscience started acting up they would simply send him a gift. Yes, instead of showering their son with love they showered him with gifts, and one of these gifts would change young Jack Spicer's life forever.

On that fateful day Jack received a puzzle box containing the spirit of an ancient evil. The ghost that was trapped within the box was the Heylin witch Wuya. She told him of the Shen Gong Wu; artifacts from a forgotten age that held great magical power. If all the Shen Gong Wu were obtained by Heylin then the world would fall into 10,000 years of darkness. Combining their efforts both Jack and Wuya set out to find and collect the Shen Gong Wu and conquer the world, and the same time battling the Xiaolin Dragons who sought to stop them.

What Jack failed to realize is that Wuya never had any intention of sharing the world with anyone, and once she had gained enough power she would dispose of him. After collecting the pieces of the immortal warrior Mala Mala Jong Wuya now has the power to destroy the Xiaolin warriors and soon enough conquer the world. As such she no longer has a need for Jack Spicer.

It is here at the point of Mala Mala Jong's awakening that the story begins.
