I'm Here Now

The moment Cosima left the island and arrived at the place she now calls home, the secret lab/ studio underneath the comic book store, she spends her nights worrying, pacing back and forth. She worries, worries for Delphine. She had heard from her the prior day, Delphine had told her she was on her way to her, that she was still in Geneva, but has gone radio silent since.

When Cosima sailed away from the island with her sister Charlotte, she had left it in complete chaos. She worried that this would implicate Delphine somehow, especially if she was surrounded by the Neolutionists.

What if they found her, kept her hostage or didn't let her leave? What if they harm her? …Kill her?

Cosima slowly paced around the vast room, checking her cellphone every few seconds. It was 3:40 am and she knows she should rest, sleep, but sleep will not come. Not until she had heard from her lover.

Things were so complicated at the moment, and important people who worked with or for the Neolutionists were showing up dead. If something were to happen to Delphine again, Cosima doesn't know if she'd be able to handle it, to take it. She just found her, she doesn't want to lose her again. To live with the uncertainty of the unknown. Not knowing wether she was dead or alive, it really took a toll on Cosima back then, she won't be able to go through that again.

Cosima's cellphone vibrates and it's an unknown number, but she doesn't hesitate to pick it up.

"Delphine?" She hastily questions, there's a hint of alarm in her tone.

"Hi chicken" Replies the voice, and Cosima instantly knows who it is.

"Oh, hi Mrs. S" Cosima answers, no longer moving. "Sorry, I was… I thought it was Delphine" She explains, making gestures with her left hand before resting it on her hip, eyes now fixed on nothing in particular on the floor.

"Open your door, chicken" Mrs. S softly replies, and a smile can't help but creep on Cosima's lips.

She instantly ends the call and rushes upstairs, unlocking the basement door in a swift movement.

She rushes through the sea of comics, not caring if she bumps into any of them and they fall on the ground.

She hastily approaches the tinted door, her smile becoming wider as she gets closer, now showing pearly teeth and sharp canines. Once she reaches it, fingers start working on unlocking it. There are a few locks but she manages to get it done in under 6 seconds.

The door swings open, and she is met with sweet brown eyes, rosy cheeks, slightly parted red lips and wild blonde curls.

"Hey…" Cosima whimpers, lips now quivering and teary eyed, fingers raising to entangle themselves in those curls she adores. "I was so worried about you" and she pulls Delphine into an embrace.

"Don't worry," Delphine softly replies, holding her tighter while placing soft kisses on her shoulder and neck. "I'm here now"
