There were moments after their bouts where they sat there talking of nothing. Dreams never to be had, goals never to be meant, fantasies never to come true.
"Have you ever thought of being a grave digger? That'd be an interesting job," Izaya asked seemingly out of nowhere, sprawled out on the school roof. His shirt was torn a little from Shizuo's rough treatment and a bruise sporting on his leg.
"…Grave digger? I suppose it'd be quiet," Shizuo added too tired to even be mad again, not that he really remembers why he was mad in the first place. Izaya's face just seems to have that effect on him, oh and the cuts on his chest are starting to sting. Neither of them moved.
"Ooo, or a coffin maker. That'd be another interesting job," He continued to think out loud not even caring if the other boy added comments in or not.
"You're really morbid, flea," Shizuo sighed wondering if he should just leave and walk to Shinra's and be done with it. Izaya be damned he could take care of himself.
"Me? Not at all. I just love people. I love meeting them, and hearing about them. If it was a murder, what did that person do bad enough to be killed? Was it on purpose, accidental, random? Were they loved? Is it a family getting it, or is it a donation? Ahh, the questions are endless!" Izaya kicked his feet a little from the excitement.
"You…love people? You're talkin' about them like their some kind of different species and you're just observing them like animals at a zoo. You call that love?" Shizuo felt himself getting angry again. Like this bastard knew anything about love. Or even kindness for that matter.
"I think Shizu-chan's just jealous. Tell me, do you want me to build you a coffin too?" Izaya asked laughing being able to tell he's getting riled again. Pity, it was actually a bit fun to talk to him like this. He hated Shizuo's unpredictableness only when it got in his way. To be honest, he loves people who surprise him, he just always has the worst surprise in store for him and can't be controlled. He isn't worthy of a coffin. More like a missing person's sign never to be found.
"Izaya…" Gritting his teeth, he started to get up again. Like fucking hell he wanted him to do something like that, even if was just a hypothetical conversation.
"Don't worry Shizu-chan…" Izaya closed his eyes dreaming about it, "I wouldn't deny you the right to build my coffin either."
