Prologue:

Queen Serenity of Syria was troubled. She had recently had a daughter whom she named Princess Serenity Leda. The princess was almost three years old and there was trouble amongst the Empire and the rebels who despise it. Tensions were growing and the Queen could see that a war was going to come out of it. The Queen sat in her palace, staring out the window while her daughter played with a little rag doll by her feet. Her handmaiden, Emily, came up to her and offered her a drink.

"Your Majesty, is something troubling you?" Emily asked. Serenity looked at the young handmaiden. Emily was the youngest of the three ladies-in-waiting that Serenity had. Emily had light blond hair and crystal blue eyes that didn't even look real. She was tall and skinny and the quietest out of the three. Emily had been taking care of Serenity ever since she was a little girl. And she knew the Queen all too well.

"Oh no. It's nothing. Just a little tired is all," Serenity replied. Emily smiled sympathetically. Her smile faded as soon as it came. Emily was worried about the rest of her family who lived on the other side of the massive planet.

"Times are hard. I wished so hard that the young princess would grow up in a world without conflict…but I suppose that's too much to fulfill. Excuse m," Emily said bowing and quickly leaving. Serenity watched her go for a moment then directed her eyes down to the young child playing at her feet. She smiled and scooped her up in her arms.

"I imagine you will grow up to be very strong and a Jedi like your mother," she said to the two year old. Serenity thought back to the days of her Jedi career. Balancing her kingdom and her Jedi responsibilities had been difficult for lack of a better word. But during her time as a Jedi, Serenity met Captain Rex, whom she had fallen for and was Serenity Leda's father. Suddenly, Talone, captain of the Queen's Guards and her personal bodyguard, rushed in.

"Your Majesty, Darth Vader is attacking!" he said. His eyes were wild and his voice was desperate. Serenity's eyes grew wide. She sat still as a rock and silent for a moment. Finally, she stood.

"Amy! Emily! Rei!" she called. Her three handmaidens quickly came. There were sudden loud booming sounds as the storm troopers blasted through the gates. Serenity quickly handed Leda off to Amy.

"Talone, I want you and my handmaidens to take my daughter to safety on the planet of Tatooine. I have friend there that will let you stay and keep you safe," Serenity said.

"What about you?" Amy asked as she received the child who was beginning to cry.

"I will stay here and face them."

"But…"

"No 'buts'! Now hurry! There isn't much time left! And when she is older, I want you to find Obi-wan and have him teach her to become a Jedi. She is the only hope for the Jedi race," Serenity said. The storm troopers were trying to get through the palace doors and Leda began to cry.

"Hurry!" Serenity said, ushering them along. The handmaidens followed Talone as the young Princess cried and reached out to her mother. Serenity's heart felt like it was dying. She rushed out onto the balcony and watched helplessly as her kingdom was overthrown. She heard storm troopers coming up behind her. She barely had any time to turn around before a bullet went straight through her chest. She couldn't even cry out. She could only fall backwards. Someone caught her as she fell. Serenity looked up into the face of none other than Darth Vader. She looked up at him with cold eyes.

"So… You got what you wanted. All the power you could ever ask for. I hope your happy…about who you have become," Serenity said in a cold tone. Vader said nothing. He didn't know what to say. Serenity sucked in a breath. Her body tensed up and her eyes grew wide. Then, her eyes closed, her body released and let go of her last breath.
