Not Pretzels
"Parker, is that you?"
She looked at the man who changed her life, changed how she felt about everything. When he looked at her, it made her feel as if she had just jumped off a three story building.
"Yea, it's me…Hardison."
It had been three years since the team had broken up. She hadn't seen any of them since then. In fact, she hadn't seen much of anyone. She stole, she ran. That was her life. He hacked, he searched. That was his life. Their lives didn't cross, but somehow they meshed.
"How ya been girl?"
"Rich." she replied.
He chuckled; of course Parker had been rich. She will always have money, he thought.
"You look funny," said Parker.
"What, funny? Nah, not me. I'm too sexy for that."
Parker grinned, she had missed his humor.
"Um…Hardison?"
"Ya, what is it Mama?"
"I've missed you. I'm glad you're back."
Hardison started to say that he found her, but instead said, "Ya, I've missed you too. And we're not going to leave each other again…right?"
"Right." Parker agreed. She leaned in and then whispered something in Hardison's ear.
His goofy grin got wider and replied, "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
And with that, they headed out for a destination unknown, only leaving behind the faint remnants of Parker's whisper.
"I've decided…That I love you Hardison. Not pretzels. Can we find somewhere private?"
