My first WALL-E fic. I always thought the movie was kind of cute, and for Disney it was pretty good. This is from the plant's point of view.
I don't own WALL-E.
If I, a lowly weed, told you I would go down in history, would you believe me?
Probably not. Few weeds do. And if my ancestors had a heart and a voice, they could have changed history.
But leaves and green and oxygen weren't good enough for the humans back then. They wanted big cities, and luxurious cars, and those horrid plastic bottles. None of Mother Nature's mountains or meadows for them. They built skyscrapers in meadows and nuclear waste in mountains. The soil tells me this, for it has been around much longer than me. It is poisoned any begging someone, anyone, to make a difference. I was the only hope, as far as I could tell.
Luckily, robots don't need you to have a heart and a voice to catch their attention. Leaves and green and oxygen were fine for them. Great, actually, because they took me to humans.
Humans! Different from the ones that killed my ancestors, because they wanted to help. Most of them, anyway. They risked their lives in doing so.
The humans had changed. They risked their lives once again to go back to a planet they trashed and then fled.
We made a new beginning, a new hope. I was that new hope. Everyone's view of Earth had changed. It was never too late to make a change.
See? I told you I would go down in history. It's not like I had a choice, that curious little computer picked me up and stuffed me in a boot…
Reviews make me one happy kitten. :)
