A Faint Sound of 'Sister'

A poem by Kitty O

Just a whisper, a whisper,

This faint sound of 'sister',

Always heartening and warming

Though troubles are swarming.

It's a loving, a caring,

An intimate sharing

From your heart to mine.

Of your love it's a sign.

And I smile, I smile,

And you hold me tight while

Speaking words with love,

Though hate's what we speak of.

I'd kill for you,

Sow grief and pain and rue.

Anything to bring you pleasure.

My love for you I cannot measure.

You love me, too.

You only tell me what is true.

You want the throne for me,

For me to have all land we can see.

We'll do this together,

With a bond they can't sever.

Sisterhood will keep us strong,

Will keep us right amid the wrong.

But through our plans,

Through the length of time my heartbeat spans,

I will long for one thing through the day.

And that will be to hear you say:

Just a whisper, a whisper,

This faint sound of 'sister',

Always heartening and warming

Though troubles are swarming.
