He could be da one (Jack Kelley one-shot)

I don't own Newsies in any way.

Jack Kelley. Jack. Kelley. Even just hearin' his name sends delicious little shivers down my spine.

"Heya Songboid", Jack said smiling. His smile made me want to melt.

"Heya Cowboy", I said.

"How many papes ya gettin'?" he asked.

"Oh ya know. Da normal", I said.

"How 'bout youse help me tamarrah?" he asked putting his hands on my shoulders from behind.

My heart sped up.

"What do ya say?" he asked leaning down close to my ear.

"O…okay", I stuttered.

"Poifect", he said kissing the place behind my ear.

My knees nearly gave.

Luckily, Jack's hands were on my waist.

The next day, my heart was thumping loudly in my chest. Shivers went down my spine at the thought of being near Jack for a whole day.

I met Jack in the bunk room.

He was leaning against the wooden post of his bed with a smirk on his face.

"Heya Songboid", he said.

I got butterflies when he said my name. "Heya Jack", I said.

He pulled me closer to him.

"Jack!" Race yelled, "Ya comin'?"

I pulled away from Jack and started down the stairs.

Jack came down after me.

I looked at Race and shook my head.

All three of us walked down to get our papes.

Jack got his usual hundred and we split it. Jack and I were done before lunch.

We went to Central Park and layed underneath a big oak tree by the lake.

Jack was leaning up against the tree and I was sitting between his legs.

"Why me Jack?" I asked him.

He started playing with my long hair.

"Because, youse so different from Sarah. She was a hoity-toity. Youse let me be me", he said.

At that moment I knew Jack could be the one for me.
