It all starts when these two first joined the Guild along with many other Americans (and 1 Canadian) that all share names of famous American (and Canadian) authors. Nathaniel and Margaret were chosen to be partners for their endeavors in the Guild. Margaret instantly repudiated him and began to question Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald for pairing them up in the first place. Nathaniel, the astute man that he is, simply ignored her and would continue to read the Bible. Once Fitzgerald left them alone, Margaret started to glare at Nathaniel. However, he remained static in place. Finally, she grew tired and threw her arms up in the air, sighing "Augh! I just- I- what even are you wearing!?" This apparently got his attention and replied, "You've been staring at me for how long, and that's the first thing you ask me?"

Margaret huffed and crossed her arms together. "Well I'm sorry! It's just that we literally contrast each other! For example, my aesthetic is light pastel colors, sipping tea or coffee under a magnolia tree, and taking strolls outside. Aaaaaaaand from what I can see, you live the ascetic life and only cares about God and whatnot." Nathaniel sighed and muttered, "Well that's not entirely wrong but, the whole reason for us to be paired up like this is so that we can 'get to know each other' or something like that." Margaret got all fussed up and quickly left the room.

He watched her leave and began to think, which is something that he finds meditative. "...Looks like I have to go find her now." Using the sagacity he perceived from when she talked about things she liked, he used his trenchant wit to go look for her in the gardens of the Guild's headquarters. Sure enough, she was found sitting in a tree in the garden. "...How did you get up there?" he called to her. Margaret jumped at the sudden noise. "W-well it's part of my Ability, Gone With the Wind, that allows me to use the winds in my favor!" she quickly turned away from him, arms crossed once again.

Everything was silent. Then, Margaret whispered, "I mean, it's not like I want to be here…" Nathaniel then remembered Fitzgerald telling him about her before meeting. She's here to salvage the remnant of what is the reputation of her family. With that being her ubiquitous motive, she carries a great burden to this Guild. With that, she needs someone like Nathaniel to support her, which is why he was specifically paired with her. He proceeded to walk around to the other side of the tree, which was where Margaret was facing. Then, he extended his hand to help her down. This caught Margaret off, causing a slight pink hue to appear on her face.

She gingerly accepted his hand and jumped down from the tree. With only inches away from his face, the light pink hue turned bright red as she stared into his violet eyes. Suddenly, he stepped away from her, causing her to slightly lose balance. Thankfully, she has a poofy dress to stable her. Startled, Margaret shouted to him as he began to walk away. "HEY! HOW CUNNING OF YOU TO DO SUCH A THING! DON'T THINK THAT I'LL BE SO SUBMISSIVE AGAIN!" Nathaniel began to chuckle to himself as he began to wonder about the myriad amount of opportunities he'll get to know her even more.
