Agitated

Harry could feel that Tom was agitated which was so unlike the other boy it left Harry feeling startled and slightly off key.

He had no idea why the other boy would feel that way. It was only the holidays soon and he would have to return back to his orphanage without Tom as he was not yet of age. He would be at the end of the Summer holidays but he would have to wait until then.

That really was nothing to worry about considering that he had lived there for as long as he could remember and he had returned there every single summer previous. It hadn't been a problem then and there would not be a problem now either.

There really was no reason for the other boy to be troubled.

Harry had not commented on it because no one else had noticed and if he did he would draw attention to it. They had not been able to get a spare minute alone for the last month or so and that meant that Harry had not gotten the opportunity to ask him.

Tom had mentioned something about him coming to fetch him on the day of his birthday in passing but he had not been particularly clear on the matter and Harry had not bothered to question the other boy. Tom would tell him when he was ready.

No one could force information out of Tom and many had tried. Harry could but only if Tom was in a good mood or he would be tight lipped about even the smallest detail that did not really make a difference in the whole picture.

Tom's uncharacteristic nervousness was starting to get on Harry's nerves.

He had needed a break and had taken one.

He was supposed to be meeting Tom in the library right now but he doubted Tom would mind if he was a little late.

He was walking around the lake. It was refreshing and a lot different from the atmosphere within the castle. He knew that if he did not take this small break, he would end up exploding on someone and this time it looked like he was likely to explode on Tom. Probably for some small and insignificant reason too.

Which was probably why his friends had been giving him a lot of space for the past few weeks. They could see his annoyance on a steady rise. He was grateful for them and for understanding, not that he wasn't grateful for Tom but the other boy was too oppressive sometimes.

Harry tried to imagine what Tom's reaction would be if he ever said that to his face. It was too much for him. Tom would probably splutter in indignation before becoming all self-righteous and exclaim that he was doing it all for Harry's safety and that Harry was simply being ungrateful.

Harry laughed out loud as his mind supplied images for Tom's reactions.

Perhaps he could convince Tom to calm down a little bit.
