AN: This fanfiction is meant for Libby, my first reviewer ever. Yeah, I am a hardcore Puck fan, but I decided to make this one about Ash for you. I imagine it takes place in Iron Daughter, where Ash is a total jerk to Meghan. Sorry if it's OOC, I'm good with Puck's goofiness, not icy demeanors. Puck, please forgive me. Here it is!

The Opposite Game

I sat in the meadow, waiting for him. What's taking him so long? Did I read the note right?

Meghan, I'd understand if you'd throw away this note right after you read it, but please hear me out. Meet me at the meadow, I have something for you.

-Ash

I shook my head and stood up, figuring he stood me up. I should've known. I turned around to leave, and was met by grey irises. A playful smirk was put upon his pale face.

"Ash," I said, still not exactly used to his beautiful features. He raised an eyebrow at my reaction.

I rolled my eyes, "Took you long enough." I sat back down, and grabbed his hand and pulled him down next to me.

He remained silent, but then pulled something out of his pocket. A box.

"What's that?" I said curiously.

He shook his head, and put it in my hands, making them shake from the slightest touch from him.

"See for yourself."

I ripped it open, like a child opening a present on Christmas. Inside the box was a small ring.

"As long as you wear this, I will always be beside you, protecting you. Because I love you, Meghan Chase." He said softly, while putting the ring on me delicately.

"But…but… you hate me!" I sputtered confused, "You treat me like dirt, like trash, and you laugh at my pain!"

"You don't love me. I'm just a little game." I continued, tears sliding down my cheek.

`He looked sorrowful. "I know, you must hate me, But I'm only doing this to protect you." He saw my unbelieving look.

"Does this feel fake?" he said, and before I could answer, he kissed me. His lips were soft and minty, and perfect against mine. My body gave in, and we kissed for a long time.

Before it could become more, he pulled away. He laughed uneasily. "I wonder what Mab would think of me if she saw this."

I caressed his cheek. "Forget Mab, Rowan, and the whole Unseelie Court. It's just me and you."

"That's the thing." He looked at me seriously. "If I say something to you, it's the complete opposite of what I'm feeling, okay?"

"Okay," then I remembered a game I played with Robbie, err Puck, as a child, "like the opposite game."

"Exactly." He murmured, "I hate you."

At first I was shocked, but then I saw his smile.

"I hate you more."

His smile turned into a half smile. He looked at me, desperation in his gray eyes. "Meghan, I have to go. But remember what I said."

"I love you." He said quietly.

"I have this ring to remind me." I said, sad he had to leave, but knowing it was for us.

He walked away, hesitantly. He turned to look at me one last time.

Then he was gone.

"I love you more." I whispered.

AN: I really don't like this one, but tell me if you like and review! Thanks!
