He stared into the curtain separating him from the other patients in the makeshift sickbay. Cottle had taken his leg a few hours ago and he still hadn't slept.

Earth.

He, he knew how to get there.

No, no. He closed his eyes and sighed. That would be the drugs talking, Felix.

He shook his head and wiped his brow. Got to sleep. Sleeping would mean losing the fever, getting better, getting back to the CIC.

Truth be told, this was the closest thing to a holiday he'd had in... gods know how long. Had he even taken leave before the Cylon attack?

Frakking workaholic. Now look where it's gotten you.

Okay. No sense in regretting personal character flaws. He sighed and shifted a little on his bed.

There was a... body curled up beside him. He jumped back a bit, startled. When did she get there?

She muttered in her sleep. "I don't care that you're a Cylon."

"W...what?" In his lethargy he realized that a more appropriate question would have been 'Who?' but hindsight is always 20/20.

"Oh, Felix." She opened her eyes and yawned. "Was I talking again?"

He decided to lie. Never liked being called a Cylon, no one did. "No, you were... humming."

"What was I humming?"

And, without having to really grasp at straws, he began humming a tune. A minor, sad song.

"What song is that?" she asked, sitting up and looking at him.

"I was hoping you could tell me."

"It's not Virgonian."

Felix shrugged. "Nor is it Caprican, as far as I can tell."

"It sounds like a folk song though, like something your mother would sing to you while you're trying to sleep." She nestled her head between his right arm and his body. "You have such a pretty voice, Felix."

"I... I know the words," he said after a moment, closing his eyes. He began to sing.

It was like with every beat his heart pumped blood to where his leg would have been, another part of the song, another note, another breath, came to him.

He opened his eyes and saw he was alone again, but the song was still there.

Earth.

I'll get us home, he thought to himself. Dreams and prophesies were all they'd been going on so far, after all.
