Hello! I did this "essay" on werewolves because of a fic I'm writing, so... let's hope you like it!
P.S.: Excuse me for my bad spell, I'm not a native English speaker.
-DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS-
Werewolves:
The name derives from old English wer, man, and wulf, wolf. Those creatures, which look exactly like a normal human being during the rest of the month, turn into savage beasts during full moon nights. There are two ways to become a werewolf: the first and more common one is by being bitten. The second one is by blood line: if a werewolf reproduces, its child may be a born werewolf. Born werewolves (or Blood Werewolves) usually get their first transformation around the tenth year of life (males) or before (females). Blood werewolves can control themselves during transformations more easily than bitten ones, but they may transform against their will in the week preceding the full moon if in great anger or fear.
Both kinds of werewolves can learn to control their mutations, but it's very difficult for them.
Differences between Real Wolves and Werewolves:
1)Werewolves have stronger snouts than real wolves.
2)Werewolves have longer claws and have a fifth finger in they paws resembling the thumb, with which they can roughly grab objects.
3)The eyes of werewolves usually have the same colors as in the werewolf's human form.
There's no known cure for Lycanthropy, but Wolfsbane Potion can make werewolves become innocuous.
-Please, review it :)
