There were so many of them that he didn't know where to start. Some of
them had been written recently, most of them had been written in the past.
Many were worn at the edges of the parchment and turning a distinct yellow
color with the age. He glanced over each one before he put it back on the
desk. His eyes scanned the pile he was keeping and it seemed to grow
bigger and bigger until he sighed with impatience. He would start all over
again, hopefully eliminating some of them this time around.
