A Cherry Blossom Love

An icy wind blew over the empty field. In the top of a near by cherry tree sat a young man. His hair blew across his face. He looked to the sky.

"It's going to storm, Sakura. You should head into the village," he said.

The girl sitting quietly beneath the tree gasped.

'How did he know I was here?' she thought to herself, ' I was so quiet!'

"Sasuke…" she trailed off. He jumped to the ground in front of her. Once again she gasped.

"Well? Are you coming?" he asked with attitude.

"Yes. Just hold on a second," she answered. She looked to the ground where her sketchpad and brushes laid. She quickly gathered the up and followed after Sasuke.

"Sasuke! Slow down. It's not going to rain for a while. We have time…" She trailed off again. He stopped and looked back at her.

"Sakura, if you have something to say, say it. It probably won't change anything," he said bluntly.

"No, I just…I want to spend a little time with you. I mean, we are always so busy with sensei, that we never get to just hang out," she explained.

"We are here to be ninja. Shinobi. We aren't here to make friends and hang out. We are merely training. I have no time for friends and fun," he said coldly. Sakura cringed and stopped walking. He continued to the village. She hurried to catch up.

"Sakura…why do you follow me?" he asked.

"Because…because I love you," she answered quietly. Sasuke stopped dead in his tracks. A single tear slid down her pale cheek and wet the ground beneath her feet. Her eyes burned with hot tears wanting to pour down. She held them back.
