A/N: For Operation Mentality with ADHD :D I think some of you might have guessed that Eliza had this if you are reading So Hard :D
Eliza. It had always just been seen as that she was 'full of energy'.
She could talk nonstop, for weeks, for days, for hours. She was always full of energy, bouncing around, never stopping.
Until around her thirteenth birthday her mother had started to get worried. She was getting more and more out of control. Her energy sprouts went for longer and longer, and Eliza kept losing sleep over it. Her grades were dropping dramatically and she had trouble doing homework. She just wanted to run around, and never stop. Seamus had told Lavender it was nothing, it was just the way she was.
Then Eliza just stopped doing any schoolwork at all. She ditched classes to go play Quidditch. She couldn't stand them anymore. Her chatter was getting almost unbearable for anyone who went near her. People would yell and scream at her to stop, but she wouldn't listen. She'd go on for hours, rambling, even when everybody was gone.
Then Lavender went to get her checked. Just in case. And, it turns out that her hunch was right.
But Eliza despised the idea. She insisted there was nothing wrong with her. That she was fine. Normal. Her mother pleaded with her to take the medication, but she refused.
By the time she was fourteen, she'd take the medication for it. She absolutely hated it and nobody knew. She made her mother and her father and her brother all swear to secrecy. It embarrassed her more than anything. She didn't even realise that her two best friends, Roxanne and Lara, already knew.
And she tried to make sure that nobody knew. But she couldn't help it. She'd try to not say much but it'd turn into long twisting rambles.
She didn't want it to be that way. She just wanted to be normal. To fit in with the other kids. Not to be some special person who couldn't help being hyper.
She started going back to classes and trying to rebuild her academic career. She threw herself into Quidditch and tried her absolute hardest in Care of Magical Creatures. She tried so hard to keep herself sane.
Then when she was long gone from Hogwarts, she met a boy. Not just any boy, but a boy who knew what it was like to have to keep big, dark secrets. To have no one to confide in.
Then suddenly that talk turned into Friday afternoons at the Leaky Cauldron. Dinner. Just talking about every regret and mistake they'd never ever told anybody else.
Then that turned into dates everywhere you can think of. And then a proposal in front of Buckingham palace. And yet they still talked and knew enough secrets about each other to last a lifetime.
They didn't need to be normal to get along well. They didn't need to be normal to love each other.
They just needed to be their lovely selves.
