Sakura held her hand to her heart as she stood over the open grave of her sensei and friend, Hatake Kakashi. Her tears hit the ground and she clenched and unclenched her fist as the casket was lowered six feet into the Earth. Despite the clouds that leaked out rain upon the hundreds gathered for the funeral, the Moon cast a silvery light and further lengthened the shadows on the ground. Sakura felt someone grab her hand and she looked up to see Naruto, and now her light tears turned into heavy sobs.
"Sakura…if I had only been there…he'd be here. I-I'm so sorry."
Sakura turned and angrily slapped him in the face.
"Don't you dare blame yourself. He died fighting for those he loved, and for everything and everyone he knew. It had nothing to do with you!"
She swiped her hair from her face and ignored the look of shock on Naruto's face. Now she turned to observe the throng of people. Everyone she knew was there, everyone, except the one person who should have been one of the first to join
Sasuke-kun.
Sakura took hold of Naruto's hand to further reassure him that he was of no blame. Hand in hand they walked forward and tossed into the grave two silver bells as two men shoveled dirt to forever cover their beloved master. Naruto looked away and whispered,
"Sasuke should be here. Baka."
Naruto tried to maintain a firm grip on his emotions, but some tears were able to spill forth as he reflected on all the memories he shared with the old Team Seven. He squeezed Sakura's hand and they fell back into the crowd as Hokage Tsunade began to say a few words in commemoration of Kakashi. Sakura glanced at the trees all around them and silently wished for Sasuke to be there. She needed him, but she knew she had no place in his heart. She never did. But he had always been her entire heart, and he always would be. She shamefully looked away and centered her mind on what those around her were saying. She was further distracted however, when the wind whipped all around her, slightly deafening her to what was going on. Her eyes widened out as she heard a barely audible whisper on the wind,
"You are everything."
Sakura closed her eyes and brushed off the words as her tired imagination running off. Opening her eyes once more, she felt her heart stop beating and her breath catch in her throat. As the wind once more picked up, leaves blew all around a lone figure high in the trees. A split second of moonlight in that direction revealed the face concealed by greenery.
"Sasuke…kun."
And in that split second, Sakura knew everything would be alright.
