Author's Note:

This scene takes place during the Day of Black Sun. The Gaang has just finally immobilized Azula and are about to set off to find the Firelord when she hints at the whereabouts of Suki and her fellow Kioshi warriors. What comes next is a dark interpretation of what I think should have happened. This might turn into a longer story, but until then this is just a one shot.

"Tell me where she is! Where is Suki!?" Sokka's shouts pounded through the empty hall, bouncing off the earthen walls.

"I am sure I have no idea to whom you are referring, water peasant." Azula replied in a false tone of innocence with a saccharine smile.

"C'mon Sokka, she's just wasting our time! The eclipse is almost over and we need to find the Firelord!" Katara begged at her brother's side. She could feel the menacing energy pulsing between the warrior and the fire princess. Sokka's deadly glare bored into Azula's strategically bored gaze.

"You know where she is and you are going to tell me right this minute or I swear to La, I will… I will…" Sokka suddenly was at a loss for words. He couldn't think of anything that would make her talk. He knew she was just biding her time until the eclipse was at its end. But he also knew he had to find out what had happened to Suki. He needed more time. She couldn't regain her bending until he was finished questioning her.

"You'll what?" Azula laughed. "Oh, please, spare me. If you want to find out where your precious girlfriend is, you are just going to have to wait until the eclipse is over. I'll gladly tell you just before I destroy you. You are no match for me."

"That may be true," Sokka said through gritted teeth as he unsheathed his black sword, "but there is something I can do about your bending. I can relieve you of your deadly weapons."

Azula's eyes widened for a fraction of a second.

"Whoa, Sokka, what are you saying?" Toph asked, already understanding his intentions.

"Tell me where Suki is now, or I take your hands first and then your feet." Sokka growled into Azula's stubborn face.

"Sokka-" Katara started in shocked protest.

"You wouldn't dare." Azula cut in matching the water tribe warrior's deadly intensity.

...

The blade was sharp. The cut was clean.

Azula's screams, frenzied and panicked, echoed through the hall as her hand, freed from its wrist, fell to the floor with a sickening thump. Her eyes, wide with disbelief and horror, started at the place where her hand had been, replaced now with an onslaught of blood and unspeakable pain.
