A/N: Written for the A Prompt Per Pokemon Challenge, MissingNo - Write about MissingNo as though it's a real Pokemon. So if it's a real Pokemon, Blue should be able to catch it with a Poke ball, right? :D

A New Pokemon Discovery

He'd been surfing along the coast upon recommendation from some old guy in Virdian City when he bumped into that Pokemon: one that the now completed Pokedex couldn't identify.

Either that or Red had messed up somewhere. But considering Red clocked the 'dex in at one hundred and fifty one Pokemon, that wasn't likely. More likely it was a new Pokemon. And Blue thought this might be a chance to get a little ahead of Red.

After all, Red had caught Mewtwo – a Pokemon Professor Oak hadn't known existed. A Pokemon that had slaughtered Blue's best team, and almost taken out Red's as well. Though Charizard had come through for Red – Charizard and two stones they still didn't know a great deal about.

But anyway. The new Pokemon. Because it most certainly wasn't a human. But it didn't sound like any other Pokemon he'd ever heard. Or look like one. It looked a little like a fossilised bird. He might have seen something similar in the Pewter Museum. That meant it should be weak to ice attacks.

He sent Blastoise in to battle. The Pokemon fell to it quickly, surprisingly weak. Too quickly really. It might as well have been a heap of sand for all the fight it put up. Blue threw a Poke-ball at it and caught it, then scanned it with his Pokedex. Still nothing. No footprint. No recognisable sound. No registered moves.

Mystified, Blue sailed back to Pallet town and his grandfather's lab. 'Grandpa? I think I found a new Pokemon…'
