The fight raged on, the sound village fought, striking first and waging war. They struck with everything they had, thinking that the element of surprise could over rule their enemies, not suspecting they could strike back harder, defending themselves and ending what was presumed to be a full waged war in mere hours. With only minor injuries to everyone, except one person, Hyuuga had been struck.

She can't be hurt. I can't nearly loose her again. The eighteen year old thought, nearly in tears as he sat over the small bed of the one person he truly loved. She was in a coma, some thought she would never wake up, but he trusted her. He knew she was stronger than that. She had to wake up; he never got to tell her everything like he'd promised he would. He was going to tell her about his past and his goals and everything that had ever ran through his head, but now there was a chance he wouldn't get to say that, get to slip in the words, "After that I knew I loved you," into the story then continue on like he hadn't said anything to see her face light up. Never get to see the gleam in her eyes when he talked to her, or her voice that she used when she was flustered from trying to speak to someone new.

He finally burst into tears, leaning over the girl's bed, she was horribly wounded, a spear through her stomach. She was lucky it hadn't hit any organs, and even luckier she didn't die on the spot. She had her shirt off, the only thing there was thick bandaging covering her torso that was covered in red from what had seeped through. Naruto lay down next to her, gently kissing her cheek, not able to hold back that small amount of affection anymore, and fell asleep beside her, wanting to be the first thing seen when she woke up.

He stayed there for three days, waiting for her to awake. One afternoon she started to stir, her arm raising up to cover her eyes as she gently opened them, blocking out the light from the lantern beside her. She felt something emitting heat from her right side, she turned her head to see Naruto asleep beside her. She smiled and leaned her head against his, waking him up, a small noise escaping his lips from being awakened shortly after going to sleep.

"Hi." The girl said, her face still close to his startling him awake.

"Oh god, you're awake!" he said, his face lighting up as he hugged her. A small squeal of pain escaped her lips as he hit close to her stomach. "Sorry." He simply said, getting off of her and sitting beside her, looking at the ground.

"Naruto." He looked at her, shocked to hear her talk, "Would you start telling me your story now?"

"Of course, Hyuuga, but one thing first," Naruto said, leaning down and pushing her hair out of her face, gently kissing her. "I want you to know, I love you, Hyuuga. Never forget."
