Her footsteps echoed through the hallway, and worried or pitiful glances were shot at her as she ran past. 'No, no it's a joke. It's just a joke!' she thought, running as fast as her short legs could carry her… To the Black Order's graveyard. She fell to her knees in front of a certain brown haired exorcist's grave huffing, and puffing, and not so surprisingly crying.
"No! Daisya cut it out! Quit acting like you're dead, cause I know you're not!" She whimpered. She balled up her fists and slammed them down on the slab of stone. "No!" She bowed her head, resting it on the cool rock, sobbing quietly to herself. "Valentina!"
Her head whipped around to glare at the person who dared to use her full name. From what she could see behind her tears, it wasn't huge shinny robot with it's creator standing on it's head stood at the door way. Her eyes widened and more tears spilled out. "Bu-but… I turned in my paperwork…" Komui shook his head and smiled. "Val, you need to wake up!" He said. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. What had he meant? The robot charged and Komui smiled. "Val!"
She screamed and her eyes shot open. She sprung up from her laying position, only for her head to collide with someone else's. "Fuck!" She rubbed her forehead and looked up to see who she had headbutted. It was a little hard, considering she had tears blurring her vision, but she recognized those purple lines on his face right away.
"Daisya!" She gasped. He looked at her and gave her his trademark grin. "What's up?" The scientist's lip quivered and she jumped onto his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. She buried her face into his chest and started crying.
Daisya wasn't surprised. Startled, but not surprised. She'd been tossing and turning in her sleep just before he had decided to wake her. He'd even seen a tear escape from her closed eyes. She obviously was having another one of her nightmares. He sighed and hugged her back. "Hey, c'mon. Calm down. What happened?" She didn't answer for a long time, and Daisya almost thought she didn't hear him.
That was until she said in between sobs, "Y-you… d-died a-a-and….. Komurin." He rolled his eyes. Of course she had a nightmare about that. Komui needs to cut the crap and do what he's supposed to do. Not build terrifying, life threatening pieces of junk just to scare his sister. Daisya sighed again and put a hand on top of her head. "Hey, I'm still here. That's all that matters right? C'mon Val, you're getting my uniform all wet!"
The redhead gave him a half-hearted glare and he smiled in return."I have to leave in a little bit, don't want it all snotty. That's all!" Don't give me that BS. You know damn well you don't have another mission for a couple of days." His smile turned into a smirk and he replied with, "Well maybe I have a special someone waiting for me." They both looked at each other. Val started laughing.
"Oh yeah? Who would be blind and retarded enough to want to date you?" Giving a pout, he shoved her off of his lap. "Who said I can't get a girlfriend?" He received another snort from the redhead. "Me. What are you deaf no or something? Or did you have another huge brain cell loss again?" "H-hey! If I were that stupid how do you think I'd still be alive?"
Val gave him a jab in the forehead. "I didn't say anything about that dumbass! Jesus, what is wrong with you?" He smiled again, but as fast as his smile came, seriousness replaced it. "Just remember, I always come back. I don't wanna have to deal with your snot and tears every time you have a nightmare alright?" She nodded and hugged him one last time before he left to carry on with his day.
Little did either of them know she would have to deal with a similar situation about a month later. Only this time, it wasn't a dream. And there would be no big brother to wipe away her tears anymore.
