Obviously, I do not, and will not ever, own Degrassi-because if I did…well, I wouldn't need my imagination to picture a half-naked (or completely naked-I'm not picky) Munro Chambers.
Savin' Me
"Clare?"
"Will you come get me, please?"
"What's wrong?"
"Please, just…please, come get me?"
"Give me ten minutes."
Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you
"You okay, Blue Eyes?"
"Just drive, please, Eli."
"You're crying, Clare. Tell me what's wrong."
"They won't stop fighting. I can't stand it! I feel…trapped when they fight, like I can't breathe. I just…needed you. That's all."
Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
"Hello?"
"Eli…"
"It's four in the morning-they're fighting again?"
"They never stopped."
"Let me get dressed."
"…I'm sorry, Eli…"
"Don't sweat it, Blue Eyes."
Come please I'm callin'
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin'
"I want to spend the night with you."
"No."
"Why not? I have plenty of times already, Eli."
"Because this time, you want it to mean something different. You're not ready for that, Clare."
"How can you know what I'm not ready for, Eli? I think I'm capable of deciding that for myself."
"Not now, you're not. You're upset. You're parents are fighting; they're losing each other and you don't want that to happen to us."
"Will it?"
"I can't promise it won't-you can't either-but we're not your parents, and we'll do our best never to end up like them. Now… Let's go get some milkshakes, Blue Eyes."
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
"Clare? Do you need me to come get you again?"
"No…no. I just, I wanted to tell you something." Silence.
"Well, Edwards? Spit it out."
"Well…I don't…I wanted to thank you for just…being here for me all the time. I know I don't ever say I appreciate you for doing all that you do for me, so I wanted to let you know." Eli smiled.
"You're welcome, Blue Eyes. For the record, you don't ever have to thank me for that."
"I know…I just…I wanted to." More silence.
"Was that all, Clare-bear?" He smirked at the indignant huff on the opposite line.
"Well, no, not exactly. There's something else…I'm really not sure if you feel the same…We'll be together two years tomorrow, and neither of us has ever really said… I don't even know if you…"
"Clare?" She gave a nervous laugh.
"Never mind. I-"
"Clare."
"Yes?"
"I love you, too."
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me
Hmmm…well, there it is: the newest drabble of mine that shall pass as writing. When I started this, it was this awesomely epic idea that I thought would turn out like I wanted it…but no.
Epic. Fail.
Well, just tell me your thoughts on this. Maybe, one day, I'll convince my current, unresponsive, and soon-to-be-unemployed muse for this to charge back into action and allow me to redo/edit/delete/ or just leave it…whatever your lovely minds think I should do because you are, after all, the deciding factor :)
