Will you marry me?
Chapter 1
Today was the day. Today was the day I would ask katniss to marry me. I can feel the adrenaline running through my veins as I walked to the house in the victors' village. I reach in my pants pocket and a smile escapes my lips when I feel the small box in my hand. By that time I'm already at the door. We live together because we could never handle the nightmares alone. So when I walk in I see that her hunting boots that are normally by the door are gone so I know she must be hunting today. Good. I think to myself. I notice that I have bread dough all over my hands still. Ugh. This will take forever to get off of my hands. Maybe I could just scrub it off? Nah. Still would take too long. Oh well maybe she won't care after all she WAS just in the woods. My beautiful huntress.
I get so lost in my daydream that I don't even hear the door open to reveal my beautiful katniss everdeen. She looks so ragged yet so amazing at the same time. "Hi" she tries to start "hey" I respond. I can feel my pants tightening with just how she looks. I wonder what she would look like with them off. "Hello peeta? Where you listing to me?" she asks snapping me out of my daydream. "Umm… no sorry what did you say?" I say a bit embarrassed. "I said where were you and why do you still has bread on your hands" she says with mock venom. " oh yea sorry I just got back from the bakery and was just going upstairs to wash off the bread dough then you came in and stopped me." I say with the same amount of venom she had. "Ok then I'll go with you I have to clean off my hands too," she says then see's my face and explains "squirrel blood." "Oh" is all I can say
Once we both finish washing out hands we both go back downstairs. But, thankfully she forgot to get a new hair tie so she has to go back upstairs. While she is gone I get down on one knee and wait.
When she returns and sees me on the floor she stops dead on her tracks. She goes frozen not even blinking. I get worried and think to myself "stupid. You knew she wasn't ready to get married you just got back from the hunger games and you decide now to propose, so stupid"
What she does next surprised her and me both. She jumps down the stairs from where she stands and she runs up to me and pulls me into a bone crushing hug. Then she stars sobbing. Sobs wrack her body and she almost falls over, luckily I can catch her before she falls. "Yes," she sobs "yes I will marry you" wait, what did she just say, did she really just say she would marry me. The most beautiful girl in all of panem wants to marry me. Me, the baker of district 12. This is so shocking that I don't say anything for a full minute then I stutter out "r- really y- you w-will m- m- marry me?" "Yes" she chokes out. I slip her ring on her ring finger and she places her hand on my cheek and I feel the coolness of her ring. She gives me a sweet kiss on the lips. I get enough courage to say the three words I've wanted to say my whole life, " katniss, I love you
